After I accepted their quote and paid for my dumpster rental, Britt Transportation attempted to increase the price by approximately 100% because of an internal scheduling change.I booked a dumpster for a Saturday delivery and Sunday pickup, accepted their quote, and paid in full. My project was scheduled around that reservation.A little over two weeks before my scheduled delivery, I was informed that the company no longer performs weekend deliveries or pickups due to changes in their driver scheduling. I completely understand that businesses sometimes need to change their operations.What I don’t understand is asking customers with existing reservations to pay for those changes.Rather than honoring the agreement we had already made, I was sent a new quote that was approximately double the original agreed-upon price because the dumpster would now have to be rented for a full week.I offered what I believed was a very reasonable solution: deliver the dumpster on Friday and pick it up on Monday at the original agreed price. This would have required the same single delivery and single pickup that were originally scheduled. The dumpster would simply remain on my property over the weekend while their drivers were off duty.That request was denied, and my reservation was canceled.Theyrefunded most of my payment. However, they retained $13.00 despite canceling the reservation themselves and have refused to refund the remaining balance.If you’re considering using this company, I would strongly recommend confirming in writing that your quoted price and reservation will still be honored if they change their scheduling policies after you’ve booked.
