I highly recommend getting training through Kristen! I like to think that training isn’t just for our fur babies, but also for ourselves as owners. I was worried about how to properly correct my puppy, as he has a pushy personality, and other concerning behaviors, but Kristen clocked it right away. I did the 3 week train while you work and have absolutely no regrets. You won’t either. She is so informative and explains everything so well. UPDATED one year later: happy to report that our pups have maintained the progress we made with Kristen on the skills we worked on together. Unrelated to the things we worked on with Kristen initially, one of our dogs was becoming extremely barky and reactive in the backyard recently. Kristen came for a session on her own time and helped address the barking/reactivity. After one session, things have improved so much! We really appreciated her collaborative approach when identifying goals and talking about paths forward to reach those goals—other trainers we spoke to had a very strict black or white, “my way or the highway” sort of approach, whereas Kristen was very willing to work with us on our goals in a way that felt comfortable and realistic for us.More specifically, Kristen helped our dogs become loose leash walkers and we can now confidently and safely walk both dogs with our toddler in our stroller. Our younger dog’s confidence and reactivity has improved SO dramatically. We’re better able to manage our dogs at home if energy gets high and they need to be redirected to “place.”To summarize, working with Kristen significantly improved our and our dogs’ quality of life, which is priceless. Our 8 month old puppy adores Kristen. This was clear from day 1. She has such great control of her interactions with our puppy and is professional and so intelligent. She was able to remedy his kennel/separation anxiety issues after two sessions. That has been worth everything! Kristen was an absolute joy to have over the last few weeks. I got referred to Kristen and it was the best referral anyone could have given me. I have an amazing french bulldog who loves people, but hated other dogs we had to time our potty breaks to where there would be minimal dogs to encounter. The first day of training my dog whined as Kristen left which has never happened in the 5 years I have had with my dog so I knew it was a good fit. Now that we’re out of training walks are whenever we want and she has gotten so much less reactive on walks, we’re still working through it with the tools Kristen gave us, but this experience changed our lives. We are so grateful we were referred to Kristen for dog training. We were in the midst of some major puppy blues and not quite sure what to do next with our Labrador Retriever puppy who had all the happy puppy energy and none of the discipline when outside of our home. We discussed our priorities for our pup’s safety and well-being, and Kristen talked us through different options and took the time to educate us on different training tools available while understanding/addressing our overall concerns. Our pup attended Kristen’s tailored 3-week Train While you Work program and it feels like we can finally breathe again. Our pup has better impulse control especially with other dogs barking around her, she can walk loose leash rather than drag us across the street, and we noticed she was generally happier from the structure and “work” from training.
