As someone new to skating in my 40’s this place is cracking my head wide open. The instructors are engaging, patient and fun. I'm on a healing journey after losing my 21 year old daughter last year. Roller skating was becoming our thing and I've continued pushing forward with it every since then. I first saw Sk8 Shot Studios on Instagram & YouTube and tried the Beginner/ Intermediate fundamental videos which helped me get thru a plateau with doing pivot turns. I then decided to take a trip to Kansas City for a skate lesson and glad I did. KJ and Adontis are attentive instructors who watch and help to correct in real time. The studio is spacious enough for the class size and drills. I really liked how they incorporate a stretch warm-up into the lesson and then build up the drills to a quick routine. I left with a new drill to work into my routine. I'm taking lessons locally but will return at some point in the near future to continue growing my skate abilities. All the best to Sk8 Shot Stuidios. KC is so lucky to have an adult skate school! I’ve been skating with KJ and Adontis since March and have loved every minute of it. The studio is very warm and welcoming. I started in the Fundamentals class and have graduated to Intermediate. They are amazing teachers and meet every student where they are, whether brand new or have been skating for years. If you need extra attention or are feeling very nervous, they are with you. The other people in the class are on their own skate journey and willing to share tips and tricks too. I just started roller skating almost 3 months ago and absolutely love it !! When I was a teenager my only goal was to stay off the floor. Now as an adult I’m learning the actual fundamentals of skating, a lot more than what I imagined. KJ, Adontis and Haley are so good at their craft it’s insane. They make it look so easy. Each instructor has their own way of teaching, you will learn from all three. They’re patient, informative and all have a great vibe. It’s a joy coming to the beginner class, yes the beginner. Honestly Sk8t Shot studios was one of the best things to happen to me bc I was kinda antisocial and super awkward. I started going here around the time they first opened and was really excited to learn how to be a better skater buttt I didn’t want to feel the judgement and pressure of not being good on skates. For me as a beginner, KJ and Adontis (among other instructors) were so friendly, helpful, and overall a good vibe. I would always look forward to their classes and open floor times. I got to meet so many people and learn fun moves, cool tricks and even get in a little workout. KJ would often ask us students what he could do to improve as an instructor so that he could help us more effectively. But most of all it really is a judge-free learning zone for everyone at any level. The music would be poppin and there were times where I’d get frustrated at not being able to do something but everyone was supportive and encouraging. Additionally I love their merch, it’s unique and stylish- I found out Adontis was the main designer and creator. Unfortunately I’m moving out of state but I’m so glad I got to experience KC’s 1st skate studio!! I’ll definitely be back whenever I’m in town! Less

I have been searching for a place EXACTLY like this for years!! The teachers (Larae and KJ) were so encouraging and helpful. The class moved quickly and we left with no less than 5 new skills. Just completed my first lesson as a beginner and I loved it. The staff is not only super nice, they are excellent teachers! I signed up for SK8 SHOT Studios almost as soon as I heard about it, and it turned out to be so much better than anything I was expecting. I had just started roller-skating at the beginning of 2023, but by the end of the year I was more confident and felt like I was ready for more advanced maneuvers. The only problem was, I didn’t know where to seek advice for skating other than the internet and in my opinion having an in person coach is more valuable than almost any video you could possibly watch. Luckily, I heard Adontis and KJ were opening a roller-skating studio, the first roller-skating studio in KC in fact. I excitedly sought them out and have since been getting advice directly from them at SK8 SHOT Studios. If you feel like you need advice, whether you’re beginner or more advanced, no matter your skate level, seek them out and you won’t be disappointed. They have exact knowledge regarding body and wheel position and placement. Using that insight they can help you on your personal roller-skating journey. 10/10 Less

They break each move down and meet each skater where they’re at so you leave feeling good about your progress. This place is great! There are classes for all levels, and even within a class Adontis and KJ are able to help support skaters with skills differences. They are great about breaking down moves into easier skills and explaining exactly what your balance and posture and positioning should be to help you achieve it. And when you get it, they celebrate and then are ready to help you level up. I go to both the beginner/fundamentals and intermediate classes and I learn something new and get a pretty decent workout no matter what we’re working on.
