I began training at Invictus in December. My husband and daughter train at the gym and I wanted to try to women's classes. As a beginner I was intimidated to start. The owner Nate and coaches Johnny and Laura were incredibly supportive. They met me at my skill level and continue to push me forward so that I improve. The training is challenging in the best way; I am a calmer, happier, more confident person because of it. I highly recommend this gym and community. Fun for the whole family :)

The Owner is an incredibly skilled grappler, he received his black belt from world famous Judoka and the fastest person to get a legit black belt ever in BJJ from John Danaher black belt Travis Stevens. To get a black belt under Travis is one of the most difficult things to accomplish as Travis has only given that honor to a handful of students in almost 15 years as teaching.To get an idea of the high level instruction that coach Nate gives his students I highly recommend getting the butterfly effect from BJJ fanatics an in-depth systematic teaching of the butterfly guard that will make this guard a strong part of your game.

I’ve tried BJJ gyms all across NYC and Boston and nothing compares to the incredible community Nate and his team have created at Invictus. Staff is highly skilled and welcoming to new comers while also providing an avenue for growth at the highest level of the sport. Couldn’t recommend more highly.
