I've used similar products - POR-15, KBS coatings, etc. All of those required the metal to be coated with a cleaner, then a separate rust converter, sprayed down with water and then have the coating applied for the best results. Basically, it was a multi step process. Using this was pretty easy, I've so far used it to cover the interior metal floor of my classic car. The floor had some rust spots (minor) so I wanted to use it to stop the current rust and for future protection. It went on easy and looks great and most importantly I did not have to spray down the interior with the multi step process - the acid converter, the water both of which would have puddled in my floor pans. So far I have no complaints, I cannot comment on the longevity of this product's protection yet - I'm unsure of how well it will protect from future rust but time will tell.
-Quantity for the price, you can't beat.
-Coated the car well - plenty left over for other areas of the car.
