😀 - Die Lage der Unterkunft ist sehr gut. 😞 - Leider hatten wir ein sehr schlechtes Zimmer, die Möbel waren sehr alt und die Sauberkeit unzureichend, es wirkte alles ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen und speziell unser Zimmer sehr Renovierungsbedürftig, die Fenster waren mit Milchglas gefüllt so das man überhaupt nicht rausschauen konnte, hier fehlten auch 3 von 4 Verriegelungen. Der Teppich wurde in den 6 Tagen gar nicht gesaugt und auch ansonsten wurde maximal das Bett 1x am Tag lieblos gemacht. Wir hatten Schimmel in der Dusche. Was man der Unterkunft zu Gute halten muss ist, das anscheinend gerade Renovierungsarbeiten stattfinden.

😀 - Fantastisk beliggenhet med med kort vei til togstasjonen og kort vei inn til sentrum.Ca 5 min gåtur inn til selve sentrum av byen.Lå i en rolig gate unna bystøy.Personalet var superhyggelig og hjelpsomme og vi fikk valg om oppgradering til ett større rom og seng for en kun noen få pund ekstra pr natt.Dette hotellet var over all forventning.Her får du en god natt søvn så mann er klar for å oppdage York by fulladet.

Found Hedley House by chance after being let down by another hotel in York, turned out the other hotel did us a favour, fantastic welcoming hosts, hotel was amazing, with whole load of facilities (spa, hot tub, gym, bar, garden at the rear) room was great (22) and slept really well, no noise from other rooms even though there were plenty people staying here, overall can’t say enough about Hedley House Hotel, we are definitely coming back staying here 5*

Honestly, for the moment i walked in the whole stay was amazing . I had the warmest welcome, was shown to my room .The room was huge, so clean and so comfortable !They also have an amazing 10 person hot tub and a sauna .If your looking for an amazing place to stay lpok no further, much better than any chain hotel .10/10 5* ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Thanks so muchDanny

Nice Hotel and staff. Facilties very good... Sauna, Jacuzzi, gym, massage all to be applauded. Full breakfast was delicious and what do you know?! There is Marmite available too! Top notch touch for me 😁

Apribile in bagno e nemmeno un aspiratore e purtroppo con la doccia si creava un po di umidità e gli asciugamani facevano fatica ad asciugare

😀 - Room nice and airy, the bathroom is on the smaller side. House is in a quiet location and short walking distance to the town centre. 😞 - One slight niggle is the is not possible to open the window properly due to lock fitted and during the heatwave with the window getting lots of the afternoon sun the room get uncomfortably hot. There also is extra parking charge of £ 18/per night which was not clear from the Booking.com advert, but given the difficulty parking in the town that is acceptable, just should be made clearer

Room was dirty, bed had black hairs all over with stains from previous guest all over the bedding so clearly had not taken the time to change the bedding. Was fairly late at night but we did get moved rooms and that had hairs in the bath, we didn’t complain as it seemed pointless as that was the second room not clean, had it not been late we would have moved to a new hotel. I left clothes on accident due to the mix up of rooms and getting confused and when I called they said another guest was staying in the room so they couldn’t check for my clothes till they’d left, surely if rooms are cleaned thoroughly after each guest they’d have already been found. I did get my clothes back for a £12 shipping fee but one item was missing, probably taken by the second guest that stayed. I do have a video of the bedding with big black hairs all over it but won’t let me add a video to post.

Very disappointing stay – certainly not the relaxing break we were expectingWe booked this hotel at considerable expense as a much-needed night away — our first proper night off in a year — and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.On arrival, we were surprised to find that we had to pay £18 to park in the hotel car park. We were also unaware when making the booking that there would be an additional £15–£20 charge to use the spa facilities. Had these extra costs been made clear at the time of booking, we would have been able to make an informed decision. As it was, the additional charges meant we decided not to use the spa, which completely took away from the experience we had hoped for.Things became considerably worse when we returned to our room later that evening. When getting into bed, I discovered that the bedding clearly had not been changed from the previous guests. There was visible dirt on the sheets, including what appeared to be bodily fluids and hairs. This was absolutely appalling and completely unacceptable for any hotel, particularly one charging the amount we had paid.I contacted the hotel out of hours to complain, and to their credit, we were moved to another room relatively quickly. However, unfortunately, the second room was not particularly clean either. There were stains and dirty marks on the carpets and the doors, the bath had hairs and what looked like lipstick marks which did very little to restore our confidence in the hotel’s cleanliness standards.When we checked out, we were greeted by a lovely lady on reception who was genuinely apologetic and clearly disgusted when we explained the condition of the original bed. She couldn’t apologise enough, and we appreciated her attitude and understanding. However, despite the seriousness of what had happened and the fact that our entire stay had been ruined, no compensation or meaningful gesture was offered.We had booked this stay to relax, unwind and have a well-deserved night away after an incredibly long year. Instead, we spent the evening dealing with unacceptable cleanliness issues and were left feeling extremely disappointed.For the price we paid, we expected a much higher standard. Sadly, the additional unexpected costs, unacceptable cleanliness and lack of any compensation afterwards mean that we would struggle to recommend this hotel or return.
