Done Rite Handyman & Remodeling LLC
We hired Larry for a kitchen remodel and it seemed like he had good reviews. We had another contractor come out to the house who was very knowledgeable and professional, but then hired Larry because he gave a cheaper quote. Now we seriously lived to regret it. His work was sub- standard at best. His quote originally was at $3,500 for a tiny kitchen, and this did not even include the backsplash and repair of the walls that had tile.During the remodel we experienced things that were not up to standards, or even professional. I asked simple advice about one cabinet and his response was “quote” I am a contractor not a designer”. I never asked his to design the kitchen. Remark totally uncalled for. Then we asked if he could transport a few cabinets back to Hone Depot. His response “quote” was, I don’t have any room in my truck”.In my experiences all contractors do this and more. Also our refrigerator handles were broken by them dragging it around the kitchen and the wheels were seized up because of debris on the floor that was not cleaned up properly. I brought this up and he said, “quote” we didn’t break them”. Which was totally a lie. The handles were just fine until they broke them. When the refrigerator was put back in its place he said, “Quote” You will never get that refrigerator out of that space again”, the wheels don’t even work anymore”. How nice of him to tell us this!On the final day of the remodel, he gives me a bill with an up-charge of $650 for materials. He went to Home Depot and bought a few trim pieces, and billed us $150 for that. The extra $500 I would love to know what that was for? Mud and screws maybe? The dishwasher install kit was maybe $30! And that charge was included on the Home Depot bill for $150. We never received any proof to justify the other $500 bill. We don’t know, because we never got any itemized list of materials. We purchased and provided everything else.Seriously, I only wrote the additional check for $3,270 not including the $800 initial deposit we paid just to get rid of him.I asked him at that time to give me a quote for our small backsplash. Mind you this was for my own curiosity and entertainment. He came back with a quote a few days later of over $2,500. What a joke, I just laughed. After all that happened did he seriously think I would hire him again?I did bring up things, but you blew them all off. Look at your invoice the extra $500 in materials was not itemized at all. You cared nothing about the refrigerator being damaged and just stuck us with that. A little glue did not repair anything. The cabinets were home depot cabinets and lots of people use them. They were not broken at all until you broke them and gouged some of the doors. We only remained cordial to you because knew we made the wrong decision in hiring you and there was nothing at that point that we could do about it. Why argue with you, when you blew off everything that we said. The other contractor did write the measurements and a drawing of the kitchen but you refused to even look at it saying , “I can’t even read that” . Well, I’m not a contractor but I could easily read it!I see you think Our review was dishonest and to answer this: NO IT WAS THE TRUTH!!! And nothing but the truth!!!You can be dishonest as to what really went on, but we all know what went on.We regret not hiring the other contractor!Yes he charged more, but the job included everything, all in one package and no surprises! He was very professional and even took the time to draw up a plan for us, and offered to get rid of the debris, and return the cabinets.Oh yes, it was our fault for cheaping out and hiring your company! Never again will we do this! It would have been well worth it to get the job done by a true professional!Your attitude was terrible , the remarks you made to us was uncalled for! Your lack of consideration just added to the insults to our injuries. We learned a hard lesson here.Cheaper doesn’t mean it will be “Done Right!!We would never recommend your company to anyone!
