Autra Batteries

I recently got a 41.93kWh Fox ESS (EQ4800-L9) battery and 15kW inverter (H3 Smart) installed by Autra, DC coupled to my existing 8kW PV system. The installation itself went quite well, and Jason and the team were really good to work with and answered questions throughout the day. However, the only negative was miscommunication/misalignment of the quote and what was ultimately invoiced/installed on the day. My quote included DC coupling my existing PV system to the new inverter, which was not communicated to the installers. There was no mention of any additional costs for the rewiring of the panels to the new inverter, and I ultimately copped an additional charge. The estimate for the AC cabling distance was also incorrect - I understood it wasn't going to be exact from the quote, as it was done from pictures, but it was more than double what was included on the quote, and they do charge a fair bit for cabling per metre, many multiples of the material cost.To the Autra's team credit - they did work with me in the end, and we agreed upon a final invoice amount that included some of the charges but with a discount. The quotation process could be a bit more thorough in regards to the household needs. I also have a Controlled Load meter for my hot water system, which is not powered by the battery, meaning I still feed in from the grid. This was not explained to me (despite providing photos of the switchboard with both meters) nor offered the option of rewiring this to the main supply meter to be powered by the battery.Overall, the installation of the quality was good, and I would recommend the team, however just ensure that the quote is solid so there are no additional surprises. If possible, organise a site visit to confirm battery placements to get a better estimate for cabling distance, switchboard inspection and others.
