I did a ton of research on home inspectors in the area and Chicagoland stood out. After going through an inspection and the 1:1 follow-up with Charlie, I cannot recommend them enough. They are extremely thorough during the inspection, take the time to explain everything to you, and then you get to go through the inspection report with Charlie 1:1 where he gives you a very cut/dry take on what's worth paying attention to / and what's not. He is extremely knowledgeable on cost estimates and even provides a list of resources you can contact that he has vetted over the years. They are great people and worth every penny!

This was our first time buying a home, and we were referred to Chicagoland Home Inspectors by a friend. Our inspector, Frank, exceeded our expectations—we truly couldn’t have been happier with his work. He was incredibly thorough, clearly explained every step of the process, and took the time to answer any and all of our questions. He truly had our best interests in mind.The final report was very detailed yet organized in a way that made it easy to understand, which helped us request repairs from the seller.We also had the opportunity to speak with Charlie after we were given the report, who walked us through the document, explained any areas of concern in depth, and provided a helpful second perspective.Overall, if you’re looking for a home inspector, I highly recommend Frank at Chicagoland Home Inspectors.

I highly recommend Chicagoland Home Inspectors. The report was extremely detailed. The inspector Alex was respectful and had all the tools to ensure he was ready for the job. Alex made sure he arrived earlier to the property so that he could inspect the roof since it was scheduled to rain. When I arrived at the scheduled time, he was pouring. I was just so impressed at his work ethic.

This review is well overdue by MONTHs. Vince was our scheduled inspector for a fully rehabbed home that we were so excited to be moving forward with. The cost was not cheap but I had heard that the price was worth it. The home was over 100 years old so we opted for both radon and sewer scope.Because of Vince we were able to ask for repairs (which were rejected), make an informed decision about the house and decided to back out of the contract. His thoroughness, attention to detail and knowledge was next level. This was a 4 bedroom 4k square foot home and it took about 5 hours. He politely asked if we were in a rush and we had time so we let him do his thing. He explained things as he went. Took photos. He got on the roof and looked through every nook and cranny. What we found was jaw dropping and because of Vince we saved ourselves about 100k worth heartache and damage that would have likely been coming from moving forward. We learned the rehab was sub par, cutting major corners. The bells and whistles wound up being a distraction of the terrible job on the structure of the home. I loved the extensive report we received rather quickly and we had a follow up call who went over the report line by line.We were so impressed with Vince. After we made the decision to withdraw (after the seller chose only small parts to repair rather than the major issues) we decided the next time we have a home we are going to come back and find Vince again. He's the best inspector I have ever worked with. He's a dream of a partner. If you're buying a home he's the one you want. If you're the seller and Vince is your inspector - just make sure your home is up to par. Don't brush things under the rug-he will find it!!
