With no sense of embellishment, my floor drain was an apocalyptic nightmare. I had no idea how extensive the clog was, until Matt and Connor arrived and saved the day (and my basement).They were extremely helpful, professional, friendly, and fixed what turned out to be a monstrous clog that stretched out to the boulevard. Using the camera they were able to show me exactly where the roots/damage was, and they stuck around for 4 hours to make sure that things were moving again.I cannot stress this enough, they had to make multiple passes with the augur, showing me the ridiculous amount of blockage that they were able to remove.Above and beyond the call doesn't do them justice, they were brilliant. I live in an older home in one of Guelph's oldest neighbourhoods.As a result we have had a lot of plumbing issues over the years.In the last few years, we have started to use Jaytech Plumbing to help us out.They have fixed many issues - broken water pipes and drains in our basement, main toilet repairs, as well as fixing a major water leak in our basement. We recently had a hot water heater that turned into a $13,000 project that involved seven contractors, three city departments and a couple of utilities. The only part of the experience that I liked was Jaytech Plumbing. You know the first thing I need in a contractor? Someone who will answer the phone! We actually lined up two plumbers to do the work who then wouldn’t reply to phone calls or emails for months. At the eleventh hour I was recommended Jaytech. Tom was at our house within a couple of hours. Now I don’t want to set unreasonable service expectations for them, but every time I’ve reached out Tom has gotten back to me quickly and on three occasions has showed up at my house to help sort things out for me.Now let’s talk about expertise. Throughout this debacle my man T (yeah I call him T now) is the only person who has had a clue about anything! Helped me navigate the city, permits, found solutions that were smarter and more cost efficient. The only person in the whole process that seemed interested in solving our problems.I won’t leave out the important bit. The price. Of the three prices we got Jaytech was the middle price... but the guy with the lowest price never returned any of my calls or emails, and neither did the expensive guy! Here’s the kicker, and again I don’t want to set unreasonable expectations but in a project where one contractor presented a bill that was twice the quote and another an invoice of over nine thousand dollars on a quote of three Jaytech presented an invoice that was actually a little cheaper than the quote, less than a couple hundred dollars but still. Look, I’m a trades person. There are lots of times when you get into a project and things get complicated. I understand that things can legitimately cost more, so I’m not saying that Jaytech will bill you less than the quote it might indeed cost more, but I can say that throughout this fiasco they are the only people I walked away trusting and I would not hesitate to recommend the company.Thanks to Jaytech.
