What this man has done for me just in the last 2 days has given me hope. An MRI showed a herniated disc in my neck pushing on a nerve and causing me pain that I didn’t even think was possible. I was told by my orthopedist to see a pain mgmt specialist. I called here on a recommendation from a friend, and got an immediate appointment. I told them I’ll see any doctor. I got Dr. Abbasi and finally I’m getting the help I need. He LISTENED and got my insurance company to approve an epidural steroid injection for today when they typically require 6 weeks of PT first. He explained the exact procedure to me in detail at my initial visit and this morning again before the procedure. He somehow got me through it when the pain was so bad I didn’t think he could. I am already starting to feel significant relief and couldn’t be more grateful. I feel confident he can get me back to living my life pain free. I absolutely can’t wait for my follow up appointment so I can shake his hand and thank him in person. I’d also like to commend his nurse Pat. She was another light in my awful day of pain at my initial appointment as well as the nurse (I can’t remember her name but will get it and update) who checked me in and got me settled in the room. Dr. Abbasi is nothing short of a miracle worker. I went to him after a different doctor told me I needed immediate back surgery for an "obliterated disc". I had my epidural injection at the West Hempstead location. I do not think I will go to the hospital again to have injections. The ease of the procedure in the surgical suite within the office was amazing. From arrival to leaving was about an 1 1/2 hrs. If you can handle injections without sedation, I highly recommend this in office procedure. Less
