We bought our first home through Roots exactly one year ago. While the purchase process itself was streamlined and convenient, the promised support afterward was nowhere to be seen. As soon as the papers were signed and the money transferred, it was radio silence from Roots.Twelve months on, and we have only just now finished repairing the faulty work done on the house by Oliver Kane and his unlicensed daylaborers. The County inspector was aghast as nothing was up to code, and an entire bathroom, sliding glass door, and framing & plumbing had to be completely ripped out and redone properly. You will be charged top dollar for shoddy materials and cut corners.Before and throughout the buying process, Oliver enthusiastically offered me a full-time position in property management as a further incentive to use his construction services - but with no intention of following through. Once the checks cleared he stopped responding to phone calls, emails, or texts. The promised position was just to keep us from going through a reputable contractor.The services we successfully received from Roots regarding the actual purchase of our home can be provided by any real estate company, so I strongly discourage anyone going into this process for the first time from using this company.Its been a year and I am grateful to finally be washing my hands of Roots and everything they sabotaged in our new home. I have never worked with a greedier, more dishonest, or disreputable company in 30 years of business across multiple countries. The only correspondence I have received from Oliver Kane since our funds were transferred and he stopped responding have been spam emails encouraging me to refer my friends and family. If anything, I find that it's my responsibility to do the exact opposite. I don't leave this review out of spite or pettiness, but blunt and forthright honesty for the benefit of any future potential clients.
