I've been coming to Relaxing Nails for over 15 years, and I seriously can't say enough good things about this nail salon. Tiffany, the owner, is amazing.. she and the other ladies always go above and beyond to take care of me and every person who walks through the door. The level of care and attention they put into each client is unmatched. My pedicures consistently last a month or more and still look flawless. I feel terrible that it’s taken me this long to post a review because truly, Relaxing Nails has been the go-to nail salon for my me, my daughters and my mom since the day they opened their doors. I went to this location because it was near my son’s school and had extra time. Bad move.I should have recognized the red flag when I went in and no one would answer my question on how much a fill is until after they sat me down at a station. They wanted $55 for just a fill with solid color/no design. $55!!! That’s $15 more than my normal salon charges ($31 with tip).-Their tactic of getting me at a station first worked and I stayed. Kathy who did my nails was very nice and thorough. She skipped at least three steps my normal salon does but figured everyone is different. The nails looked fine when I left. The very next day my thumb nail polish chipped! This has never happened to me before and have been much harder on my hands.-The salon itself is not the best. When I walked in it wreaked of smoke and remained the whole time. Idk if there was a backdoor open and someone kept smoking nearby but it hung in the air. The decor would be cute if it was kept up but it wasn’t and made it look bad. It would be better just to take down. There is a random ‘floating’ sink you wash your hands in afterwards which is fine had the lady who was not working kept her BARE FEET rested up on it almost the whole time I was there. Disgusting.-To sum up, Kathy was very nice but I will not return to that salon due to quality, price and bare feet where there shouldn’t be! Less

Came in at 1pm and for 30 min had my feet in cold Water. Never once did she come and offered to change it or to see if I was okay. It's now 2pm ONE FULL hour of me walking in and NOONE came and offered anything.. No friendly service or communication whatsoever. Lady in a purple outfit completely ignored me and assisted another client during that full hour. Horrible service! Less

My first time experience, the place is nice and clean but my concern I called in advance and was very specific to do the service with Jenny because was a friend recommendation for years. When I got there on time for my appointment they said she was busy and than put another person to suppose start (?) the service, lot of bad communication and I honestly couldn’t understand. I was waiting for massage and feet mask but she brought oranges and cucumbers and didn’t even ask if I allows or had allergies, looks like she was ready to make a green juice but she put those stuffs on my skin. I came in the salon asking for a regular pedi with Jenny and they charged me $70 with oranges and cucumbers with Diana. I’m very disappointed and feeling mistaken. awful they messed up all my friends nails and they put the stickers on edge the white color i got was not covering my nail completely and they sprayed stuff in one of my friends eyes. never coming again. Less

I’ve made an appointment on Sunday 5/25 for Wednesday 5/28.m for dip powder with the main female who only does this services. I got there at 1:07 (parking). She was working with another child at the time. After using the restroom, I asked her how many minutes will be waiting. She is totally gaslight the question and not giving a direct answer. Then I asked her give me a time period of to how long, she said 30 minutes. This is the second time I have made an appt and was place less of a priority to someone who was white or Asian. This salon is prejudice to women of color. If you make an appt and a white or Asian person does a walk-in they will take them over you and blankly ignore your presents. So to all the brown women out there avoid this salon like a plague. I will be reporting them to the city and BBB. Less

LOVE this spot! got my nails done here about a few months ago. My manicure lasted me perfectly for a month. I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure (which has also lasted me a long time) and the pamper treatment I got was so nice. I also got little flowers on each thumb nail. The women working here are very sweet & made me feel at home. I got my nails done by Jenny, i highly recommend! This is my new spot when I’m in the bay. Best spot in San Mateo 💖 Less

This place is really unkept and a bit messy. Just noticed a lot of untidiness in their products and equipment. I went in for a pedicure expecting to pay for what I went in for and got up charged for some callousness cleaning that they opted to do without telling me the additional charge. Less

I have been going here on and off for about 10 years and I love it! That staff is so nice and they do my nails exactly how I want them every time. This time I got a set of acrylics and a pedicure before a bachelorette party. I just absolutely love the champagne gold color that they help me pick for my fingers and the flowers they added to my toes!! Less

Got a mani pedi. Told the lady I want gel pedi like 10 times at the beginning and was expecting gel and she gave me regular.. annoying and my service was very rough and rude. at one point the manicurist practically threw the pillow on my stomach when I am very obviously pregnant. Rough handling your toes and hand too. this place is not relaxing!! Less

I’ve been going to the shop for years they used to be cool before the pandemic but it seems like now they are money hungry rude people. I will never return to the shop again. They will sit there and make fun of you in their language and walk away from you without even looking in your direction when they are done and then expect a tip afterwords. Then they’ll get mad at you if you don’t have a tip in cash, yet they offer an option to provide a tip with your credit card. Sounds like these people are scammers trying to avoid paying the IRS. If you’re looking to be treated rudely and unfairly come to this place if you’re looking to be treated like a decent human being don’t ever come to this place. Less

This was anything BUT RELAXING. Been trying new places and saw good reviews so I decide to give it a try. While removing my acrylic nails the women helping me sanded my acrylics off and continued to grind it past my own nails, till my skin was exposed and burning. I made her stop and they discussed it amongst themselves and she attempted to continue till I got out of my seat. There was lack of communication and when I tried to talk to someone about what was happening and no one was addressing me I finally left.... Now I can't even put nail polish on my nails because the raw skin under several of my nails are exposed. I don't believe that the women who was helping me, knew what she was going AT ALL !! They charge to much and they didn’t even do my lip waxing right or my eyebrows still leaving a lot of hair and on my toes I ask for gel and didn’t get it they did regular. Less
