I am an independent consultant and I work as an Interim CEO for a variety of businesses throughout a year. Recently, a nonprofit I work for was in the precarious position of discovering that we had inadvertently missed a deadline to cancel our copier contract -- which created a big problem, as we really do need an upgraded, better machine, but the charge was going to be north of $2000, basically for nothing.
