Our 20+ yr old A/C went out 3 mos ago. With a similarly aged furnace, we sought out 3 installers for info on equipment options & pricing. I ask lots of questions in order to make an informed decision, beyond mere cost. We also thought it a good time to investigate connecting a main floor register located in our front room that the builder of our home had overlooked when built, 30 yrs ago. Jump HVAC’s owner,BJ, promptly met w/us & explained their equipment features, as well as their recommendation involving cutting out a length of our finished bsmt ceiling, to expose & run a 15 ft duct from register to downstairs furnace, subsequently re-Drywalled & painted. This was quite a project in itself. Adam did the work, and all came out very nice, making quite an improvement in both heating & cooling of our much used front room. Evaluating the lacking effectiveness of our outmoded add-on humidifier, we further decided it was a good time to upgrade to a new, Aprilaire steam humidifier system, that integrated well with the new Ecobee smart thermostat & variable speed Bryant HVAC system. We’d also decided to replace the hot water heater that was w/in a yr or two of the end of its life. We ended up with a very nice HVAC system, that operates beautifully, and no doubt saved us money due to greater efficiency, as well as in comparison with replacing components piecemeal. Alot of work was involved, and though not cheap, Jump was very competitively priced. I preferred going w/a smaller, family owned company & dealing directly with the owner with an honest work ethic & patience to address all of our concerns. Less
