I contacted SweepSmart about a capped chimney that has been causing a persistent soot smell in our front lounge. My initial enquiry was handled promptly and professionally.Booking was straightforward, although I did need to follow up on the day to confirm the time slot. The appointment was later brought forward due to cancellations, which I agreed to.Kiln carried out the sweep. He was polite, professional and easy to deal with. He showed me the condition of the flue, which turned out to be relatively clean. The visit lasted around 25 minutes and the area was left clean and tidy. I did need to clarify on site that the chimney stack had been capped, as this did not appear to have been passed on in advance.The sweep has not resolved the odour, although I was informed beforehand that this would depend on the underlying cause and airflow. I had a few follow-up questions afterwards, and the company responded clearly in writing, which I appreciated.Overall, a professional service with some minor communication gaps, handled reasonably throughout.
