Sandy Bottom Boat Tours
The best part of our tour was that it was family friendly. NO foul language or alcohol! Just clean wholesome family fun.Amy is the wife of Roger, the boat captain. However, Amy was personable. She was the host who did more than ask if anyone had music requests. Amy undocked,⚓️ anchored, set up floats, retrieved floats, set us a sail and docked us. She’s very knowledgeable and her friendly smile is down to earth welcoming just as much as her ability to connect with all her guest. The waves were choppy and we were blessed with a partly cloudy day (no sunburns 🤗)We visited 🦀crab island for a few... on board we weren't jammed packed as there was a family of 6, 3 best friends and myself. Which left plenty of room to move around. The children of the family were probably 11 and under however they interacted well with us older women. We threw a football 🏈 among the 4 of us and 2 of the older kids til all of our arms were worn out... the waist clear water was invitingly warm and much better than the risks you take at the shoreline with marine life. No dangerous marine life were encountered; thank you Lord for protecting us🙏! Our bonus was the offer to go sightseeing for dolphins. 🐬 We encountered 3 different ones all swimming solo. However if you watch the videos, you'll catch just a glimpse of them as they weren't very interactive. Nonetheless, this Tuesday afternoon tour wasn't overly crowded with tourists as its near the end of the season therefore it was a perfect sail! Let's not forget to mention a school day for the locals, so Yay us!I would like to mention a little details for those wondering: The boat is equipped with a bathroom, TV, plenty of bench seating and storage. You will get sprayed with water when the boat is accelerated, moving briskly through the waves. With that tidbit, watch your footing if you go to get up and move about. There are lots of cup holders for your lid covered drinks. Sunglasses, sunscreen, well-fitted hats, something to drink and towels should be in your bring along bag. Oh, and don't forget your smile bc you're gonna love it!Kudos to Amy and Roger for a safe and amazing trip! Can't wait to do it again next time around...
