If the business relationship is salvageable, I would be absolutely willing to come and edit the review star rating. Not sure what in the world happened on our initial phone conversation. I believe I was hung up on. Which (if the case) is totally rude and disrespectful!! I inquired about the company process with regard to contract/invoice signing/payment and policies of upfront down payment. I stated my company has been exposed to previous situations of service providers and contracts getting 50% upfront and not showing up or showing up weeks later with no communication in the interim. I offered to pay for 100% material costs upfront (as a way to alleviate the roofing company committing significant funds upfront), and 50% upfront for the labor cost (so any laborers or employees committed to the project are 50% paid for upfront). What Katie met me with at that point was a rant accusing me of wanting to simply get her pricing she has with her suppliers. Even though I previously stated that I had no interest in such and my concern was more about risk mitigation. She literally at one point said "I know what you're trying to do. You're just trying to squeeze me and get my pricing. Shortly after I heard that, the phone disconnected. I texted her I was really wanting to believe that she wouldn't go so far as to hang up on a potential client. In that text I stated "I don't know what happened. I'm hoping I wasn't hung up on........". Her response only response was "Our terms are 50% upfront and the balance at completion of the project". Never acknowledging that I felt as though I was hung up on. Which to me has a strong implication. I don't know if that's a regular way of interacting for Katie or if she had a bad day. But in a best case scenario, this was mishandled. In a worst case scenario, she blasted off and hung up on a potential client. Less
