My wife and I contracted Juan Reyna and Freshcoat Works for some work at our vacation home in Ocean City. The project entailed drywall repair, due to a roof leak, as well as painting. My house is almost 30 years old and during that time, I have hired 6 different painting companies for painting the inside or outside of our home. It is typically a big job, and not all painters can truly handle it.Of all the painters I have hired, Juan Reyna and Fresh Coat Works is by far the best painting contractor I have ever worked with. I requested quotes from multiple painting contractors. One just texted me a dollar amount, with no details. Another blew off our meeting and never showed. Two of them provided a written proposal, including the one from Juan.My first impression of Juan was that he runs a professional painting business. I could also tell that he is a reasonable person. My wife and I were impressed with his professionalism and the level of detail of his proposal. Although his quote was not the lowest price, I decided to proceed with Fresh Coat Works for our project and then crossed my fingers that Juan and his team would do a thorough and good job for us.The key to a painting project is the prep work, and we were immediately impressed with the time and effort Juan’s team put forth to clean, sand and fully prepare the outside of our home. When they discovered any sections of rotted wood, they did not just fill them with filler and paint over them so they could get done the job. Instead, Juan took pictures and alerted me to any areas of wood that needed to be cut out and replaced. Juan helped me find someone to make the repairs so the job could continue. This slowed down the project, but Juan was more focused on doing a great job for us. Also — The job site was kept clean, especially at the end of each day.The house turned out beautifully — better than prior paint jobs with other contractors. The new paint is smooth, with a satin finish.One thing I greatly appreciated was the online portal that Juan has where they post pictures and videos as the job is progressing. As this is a second home for us, we were not onsite for most of the project, but were still able to see the progress on a daily basis.A key factor to the success of any project is communications, and Juan communicated regularly with me throughout the project.My wife and I are very happy we selected Juan and Fresh Coat Works for our painting project.
