I’m not a lucky person by nature, but for once something went right when I happened upon Spencer Keefe, owner of “Spencer for Hire”.Never before have I encountered such a combination of professionalism, and courtesy as I have when I hired him to be the contractor for my kitchen renovation. What I felt set him apart from so many others was not only the skill by which he worked, but by the communication he and I exchanged throughout the whole process. We all know what it’s like to be told or promised something by a professional that we are dependent on only to go days, and even weeks with lapses of knowing where we stand, and what the next step is. It’s demeaning, and frustrating to say the least.Spencer was always professional, and in communication for any changes, or updates. He knew exactly what sub contractors to hire, and each turned out to be a pleasure to work with also. Quick, efficient, and never leaving any messes behind them. This experience for me leaves hope that there are still reliable, responsible, and honest professionals out there to be able to count on.

Spencer is an excellent general contractor. He is honest in his assessments, reliable and reputable. We have had him complete several remodeling projects including overseeing a kitchen renovation, bedroom closet addition, and deck repair. He is calm, deliberate and stands behind his work. Highly recommend!

I’ve chosen Spencer 4 Hire for multiple interior and exterior projects since 2020. Most recently he updated our basement with baseboards, trim work, and new lighting. Spencer communicates well, sets and meets expectations, brings in quality experts for things like electrical and plumbing work, and uses high quality materials. He pays very close attention to detail in every aspect of a project. His projects consistently come in on time and on budget. It’s also just a genuine pleasure to work with Spencer.

Spencer came highly recommended to us and he lived up to his reputation.Spencer is professional, a master craftsman and is very customer orientated. He was punctual, takes pride in his work, a strong communicator and kept the job site clean. We knew exactly what we were getting from Spencer because he took the time to break out the material and labor in his quote and he kept us updated at all times. His pricing is very competitive. He took care of our requests and made sure he talked with us on a daily basis about how the project was moving along and what to expect in the upcoming days.I have worked with some good contractors over the years and I have to say that Spencer is by far the best contractor that has ever done work for me.

I highly recommend Spencer for any of your remodeling, construction or repair needs. He is super professional, extremely meticulous, and really reliable. I'm so lucky that I have had the pleasure to be able to use him for both the remodeling of my bathroom as well as the building of my deck. I have many more projects to complete at my house and I wouldn't think of using anyone but Spencer.

Spencer 4 Hire is by far the best overall contractor I've worked with. Not only was he always on time, but he kept us very well informed throughout our projects. He and his team redid our basement and we couldn't be happier with the results. What impressed us most was not just the communication, but the cleanliness of he and his crew. They cleaned up daily and took steps to protect our items to ensure they didn't get dirty or ruined. He is very respectful and straight forward with the work needing to be done, price of materials, labor, he kept us updated on every aspect at all times. I would definitely recommend him and will be using him for future projects as well.
