I was at 210 lbs. January 2025 and had suffered with an umbilical hernia over 30 years and diastasis recti (separation of abdominal muscles) for about the same length of time.I had a referral from a friend that had Dr. Tomas provide the no mess procedure and had an incredible experience, and decided to go have a chat with him in July.I was told per my personal doctor my ideal weight for my build and height is 165. I thought she was crazy and told myself if I could get to 180 lbs I would be good.I began to lose weight by changing my diet, stopped overeating as we oft do and exercise everyday. The weight began to drop and by July when I met with Dr. Tomas I weighed 195.I had never gone through a process of losing weight and did not know what to expect but decided after my visit with him I set a goal weight of 175 prior to surgery because I wanted to get rid of the diastasis recti as well. (I was at 174 day of surgery).Dr. Tomas said he could stitch it partially while he was doing the NO MESS but could not get it all. however because of my weight loss he was able to accomplish more than he expected, but still had a separation.I am posting today to let you know that after per your orders of taking two months off post surgery and healing. Then resuming my exercise routine of bike riding, walking and light exercise that just two weeks ago I was on my back roller stretching out and looked at my stomach and what you were not able to get stitched up has completely healed per my commitment to eating healthy and continued investment to my health. I found Dr Tomas and U First Health clinic after discovering I had a large hernia in my upper abdomen, and immediatelydoing as much research as possible on hernia repairs. I had to put it off for several months due to logistical circumstances but finally went last week and got it done. I had heard so many nightmare stories about the mesh repairs that I was unwavering in my decision to utilize this Desarda technique at Dr Tomas' clinic. From the first phone call to current day it has been as perfect an experience as one could hope for.BJ was my coordinator at U First Health, did a great job and is super compassionate yet very professional during the scheduling process. I am now 74 in March 2026. Last May 2025 you did inguinal hernia surgery on my left side and today I don’t feel anything I mean there’s no twins or once a week or once a month it’s like before I had a hernia it’s just there’s no there’s no pain. There’s nothing I mean it’s completely as though I never had a hernia. I never had surgery, which is amazing because on the right side I had inguinal hernia surgery from Dr. blank. Also here in Fort Myers I’m blessed to live in Fort Myers, which is where Dr. Thomas office is but anyway I had mesh surgery in June 2020 and after I don’t know after five months, I started having pain and. Almost 6 years later 5 1/2 years later I still have pain. The pain is not as great but what a difference is so I’m not gonna reveal here how much I paid but I’ll tell you. It was the best money I’ve ever spent in my life and I wish I had had it done on both sides by Dr. Thomas I even knew about the mesh Free when I had the first one done, but I had to go to the traditional words I had to do it the right way and it was not the right way. I am the left side is I have never had any problems no pain just to show you how bad the pain on the right side was after two or three years I bought a PEMF machine for around $20,000 which has helped and I’ve used that machine on other sore joints on my legs. I got leg cramps at night. It helps with that, but that is a lot of money to spend it. I think it did help. I still get pain, but the pain is less on the right side no pain. Nothing on the left side. I don’t regret buying the PEMF machine the rest of the reason I bought it was because of the pain on my right side from the renal surgery on my right side the mesh surgery, but I’ve used it for other my sore shoulder leg cramps but this is not a review for the PEMPEMF machine that’s why I bought it because of the pain I was that desperate because of the pain on the right side, but I will tell you that money I spent I would know knowing what I know now about the mesh surgery. I would pay double if I’ve had that surgery first and then needed in Green hernia on the other side, I would pay twice what I paid for the first one if it was Dr. Thomas doing it that’s I’m sorry that’s how I feel and Dr I’ve been meaning to stop by your office in person but I wanted to wait till after six months before I said anything cause that’s when the pain on my other one started and I’m saying it with confidence man I love this this doctor. I’m sorry I know I’m getting exaggerated. No, I’m not getting paid. He doesn’t even know I’m doing this. I don’t know how to reveal myself. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say my name or not or maybe it is up above I don’t know but Dr. Thomas this is James McCullough. I live here in Fort Myers there. I have revealed myself and thank you very much. I hope a lot of patience. Read this and don’t make the mistake. I made please don’t do that.

Thank You ! I just had hernia surgery 3 day ago at UFirstHealth and it was a fantastic experience. Very minimal pain and healing very quickly. Martha the anesthesiologist really was fantastic. David thanks for helping me get dressed after surgery. The front desk staff was also fantastic…I was completely pain free until the next day and the pain medication ease all the pain. I had an umbilical hernia and called multiple Doctors and went to multiple consultations. When I called U First they gave me direct answers and pricing and made the decision to use them very easy. I came in from out of town and they were very accommodating and organized and even had a caregiver they referred to take care of me after the procedure. The whole team was great and the whole process was very efficient. I would recommend them to anyone.

I lived with a hernia for years because I was scared to get it fixed. I convinced myself I could manage it, but over the last year it kept getting worse. I'm 67 and never written a review. I felt that I needed to share my experience.Dr Tomas was wonderful from the very first time I saw him. He explained every detail of his procedure in layman's terms.I had everything set up for 1 hernia with another doctor but I thought I would get a second opinion. I'm very glad I did! He pointed out that I had 3 hernias, which the other doctors did not tell me about. I had 2 worked on by Dr. Tomas and can't tell you how happy I am with his work!
