The EDGE

New Review:I joined the Edge Nutrition program because my silhouette had started to resemble the Liberty Bell — historic, beloved, but not a shape you want catching you in a side mirror. I'd been working out at the Edge for a couple of years, so I was strong, I just happened to be strong inside a bell.My big fear: I'm a foodie. Every diet I'd ever tried boiled down to "stop eating things you like and starve." Hard pass. So I figured nutrition coaching meant a lifetime of sad chicken and steamed regret.Wrong. Sean taught me how food actually works — protein first, eat on a schedule, real carbs, no gimmicks. I lost 15% of my body weight, dropped 4 pant sizes, literally had to cut several inches off my belt, and had to get my suit re-tailored (worth it). I've hosted friends many times this summer, fed them great food, and nobody had a clue it was good for them. They just knew it was good. And no, I'm not on a GLP-1 — I'd rather spend a lifetime eating well than a lifetime taking medication. This isn't a diet. It's a new normal that happens to taste fantastic. Five stars, easily.Old Review:I started my journey with the Edge after making myself a new year's resolution to get in better shape. I had previous experiences with gyms (boot camps, planet fitness, etc.), but wasn't necessarily looking forward to joining another program which I would eventually abandon. When I started, I was a real mess. Being middle aged I made a lot of bad life choices which were immediately visible -- I felt middle aged.I started off with some personal training (Sean) and physical therapy (Antigone, Anushree). In the physical therapy session swe finally diagnosed that I had a small stroke in 2015, and the right side of my body had significantly atrophied over the years. Something that my doctor couldn't figure out after multiple visits.Through the personal training sessions, I was able to get in enough shape to join the general pop in group workouts. Since then I have made significant achievements, and can really feel the difference -- who knew I had a core?Beyond the personal achievements, I love this place due to the people. All the trainers (Sean, David, Alyssa, Mark) talked to each other to ensure they were making the right adjustments in my routine to meet MY needs. Beyond their understanding, I feel like part of something. The staff is very interactive and fun, and the different people I have meet in the group sessions I have come to know on a personal level as well. The price is more costly than what I have paid at other places, but you get what you pay for. (It's also a great motivator to not miss the thrice a week sessions).Mark is the owner, and has built the business. The staff, focus of the company, affirming attitude of making the best you permeates the organization.I look forward to everyday -- not because of the workouts, but due to the fact that I finally feel like I want to feel.
