I underwent a total knee replacement at the beginning of October and I cannot thank Mr Gareth Stables enough for the care and reassurance he provided. From the very first consultation, he explained everything clearly and put me at ease. His support continued through every stage—the hospital stay, the operation itself, and the follow-up appointments—making what felt like a daunting journey so much easier to face.I was very nervous about the idea of being awake during the procedure, but thanks to his calm guidance, I felt safe and comfortable throughout. The relief was immediate—the arthritic pain that had troubled me for so long disappeared straight away. The only discomfort was from the operation itself, and even that was manageable with the medication provided.Recovery has been excellent. By following Mr Stables’ advice—taking pain relief as needed, keeping up with the exercises, applying ice, and resting—I’ve been able to heal well and regain confidence in my mobility.

I am now at day 6 after Arthrosamid injection.Day 4 I did short drive..day 5 my knee ached for first time.Rested it and it improved.Day 6 knee still a bit achy think it needs more rest...seems to be trial and error.I have been able to walk since day one except yesterday.Still unsure is it going to be days or weeks until knee feels 'normal'..more guidance would have been appreciated plus a follow up phone call to check how I was and any question about day 7 post injection...still not sure what to expect toInjected knee to feel like when recovery is complete...not there yet.Medical service very good from specialist to radiologist..just hope the procedure works.

I had knee replacement surgery in mid June 2025. Now 3 months on in mid September I am walking comfortably without using a crutch and am gradually building up the mileage. The surgery is hard to recover from and very painful at times which Gareth Stables explained and he also stressed the importance of following the exercises. The physio service at Spire Stretton is excellent. The combination of the skill of the surgeon, the knowledge of the physio and my own adherence to the exercises has led to a very successful outcome.

Absolutely delighted with my appointment to see Mr Garath Stables. He spoke to me on my level and explained everything to me making sure I understood. Within the next 2 days I had an appointment to get my Arthrosamid injections. Would definitely recommend seeing Mr Stables even if just for a chat about your knees and what to do next.

I was very happy with my initial consultation. Mr Stables carefully explained the different options and I decided to go ahead with Arthrosamid injection which was carried out 10 days later. It is still early days but I am very pleased with the improvement so far.David E Higson
