I have had back and neck problems for 40+ years and been to numerous physical therapists and massage therapists. I had an excellent massage therapist for many years who became a registered nurse and stopped doing massage. I spent years trying to find someone to replace her and finally stumbled on Amaya's website and Yelp reviews. I decided to try her and was blown away. No one before her has been able to get the muscles in my neck and back to relax and stay relaxed, but Amaya has. Usually I'd get a deep, strong massages and though I would have some relief eventually the muscles would tighten back up. However Amaya has been able to get my muscles to progressively relax more each time I see her. She is by far the best massage therapist I have seen. In addition she has a great website, it's very easy to book appointments, pay, etc. and her new location is easy to access, park and lovely. Give her a try, you wont regret it. I can't recommend her enough. I came in with ongoing shoulder and back pain, and she took the time to really understand what was going on instead of rushing through a generic session. I haven't had a massage in over 20 years, and my girlfriend goes to her every week. I liked that she worked out a knot in my neck without making me hurt the next day. She had plenty of pressure for the spots that needed it and I'll go back next time I tweak something. She personalizes the massage so yeah. i'm a fan.

She took the time before our session to discuss any trouble spots I had like my shoulders and my calves, and took extra care to dig into those spots during the massage. However, I recently was diagnosed with a impingement of the shoulder so I researched a masseuse experienced in therapeutic massage. Amaya fit me in with a cancelation. She is professional, but yet warm and kind. I was totally at ease with Amaya and the ambience was beautiful and comforting. Amaya is very knowledgeable. My review for Amaya is long overdue. I was in desperate need of a massage and after reading copious amounts of reviews from different places, I decided on Amaya. One of the best decisions I made that month. I opted for the 1.5 hour massage with Amaya where she initially warmed me up, getting my body ready for the deep tissue massage I selected. I've never had a masseuse actually warm up my body for a massage and I really think every masseuse should do so. The warming up was soothing and fully prepared me for the kneading and coercing of my knots that have riddled my back for years. During my massage, I almost cried from joy at certain points because of the release of all of that tension my body has held onto. It felt so GOOD, so freeing. It's almost like Amaya unlocks that tension with her genuine care and compassion versus just her talented and strong hands. Amaya, herself, is very pleasant. Sweet and full of good energy, she gives you direct attention with a soothing manner. I highly recommend her.

Amaya is AWESOME! This review is long over due. I suffered a lot of pain in my shoulders, arms and lower back. I went to see my doctor and she said I have early signs of arthritis and suggested I see a Physical Therapist. I have a desk job and I am sitting in front of the computer ALL DAY. I don't think my painful shoulders, arms, and lower back issues is due to arthritis. I found Amaya on Yelp and decided to book an appointment online. My first visit was Amaya's Massage for an hour and 30 minutes body massage. It's a customize body work. Right away she made me feel welcomed and comfortable. She's very attentive and intuitive. She's very knowledgeable in body work and wellness. She also makes it easy to book appointments and making payments on your iphone. As I breathed my way through the pain, I scheduled another appointment the following week as that one session wasn't enough. I was REALLY in bad shape. The next session, I booked the Nueromuscular Therapy. It's a very deep massage for an hour and again, she worked through the stiffness and we were seeing progress. She gave me some good tips after our session. I highly recommend Amaya if you need a Massage Therapist. She's very professional and I felt safe with her which is important to me.

I've gotten Amaya's signature massage and neuromuscular therapy and she is very skilled and amazing. She is intuitive in her approach and can pinpoint the exact areas on the body where you need extra focus/care (extra tension, etc.). I work at home and am sitting at a desk most of the time, so needless to say that I do get tension especially in my neck/shoulder area. When I did the neuromuscular therapy, I went from having a load of tension on my shoulders to feeling so much more relaxed and at ease (not to mention my tense shoulders relaxed down and literally lowered in height, if that makes sense lol). She is very strong so if you like deep tissue or a more firm massage, she's your gal.
