We couldn’t be happier with our experience building a home with Southland. From day one, our builder was professional, flexible, and clearly took pride in their work.One of the things that stood out early on was how smooth the planning process was. Jennifer, our advisor, really took the time to understand what we wanted and made sure every detail was captured in the plans. The fact that we could make architectural changes without added fees made the whole process feel truly custom.Choosing finishes was easy too—there were plenty of great options without it feeling overwhelming. And throughout the build, we were able to make changes as needed. Everything was handled quickly and with a can-do attitude.Our general contractor, Tim, was fantastic. He kept us in the loop the entire time, which was especially important since we weren’t local. Getting photo updates every couple of days gave us peace of mind and kept us excited. If anything came up, it was fixed right away—no hassle.We also really appreciated the honest advice we got along the way. It helped us make smart choices and added value to the final result.The build took about eight months, and now that we’ve been living in the home for three months, we can honestly say everything turned out great. The only small issue—a door that didn’t latch—was fixed within 48 hours. Plus, the insulation has been so effective that our utility bills have been surprisingly low.All in all, we’re extremely satisfied and would absolutely recommend Southland to anyone looking for a builder that’s reliable, professional, and truly focused on the customer.

When I started looking for a house. I stumbled across Southland Homes. We had a friend of the business recommended that we use them. They have tons of plans and you can customize them. We picked out one that worked for our budget and we got the ball rolling. Once we got through permits the build went quickly. They did a fantastic job. I highly recommend anyone to check them out for their next house project. I love my house. From start to finish in 8 months.

We built our home in 2021, amid a lot of construction shortages. With that said, Brian, our builder was amazing in helping to navigate these difficulties. Lucrisa, in the sales office helped us redraw an existing plan and make it more customized for us.

I had a Southland custom home built and moved in in July 2018. This last set of storms and I had 2 places that started leaking. I called Southland homes. I explained the issues and causes. Southland homes paid for the repairs and roofing corrections 7 years later. Who could ask for better customer service. Thank you Wendy

It's been 13 years since Robb & Scott from Southland Custom Homes built our house. So, I figure enough time has passed to evaluate the quality of construction. I could not be happier. No corners were cut. The foundation is amazing. And the Zip system they installed in 2012 was done properly. We have more than made our cost savings back in electric bills because of their attention to detail. Absolutely amazing construction on the things that matter. I see some complaints here about landscaping and grading... hire a landscaper if that's your boggle. These guys build homes... and do it the right way.

Jennifer Bombardo with Southland Custom Homes’ Winder Office is their secret weapon. We built a large, multi-generational home in 2023. The 5 months we spent planning and designing the home with Jennifer it was what made the project a resounding success.I’m a stickler for details. And I am not afraid to spend the time and effort to research and explore the best options. Jennifer matched me with her enthusiasm for getting the layout, design, and contract details right. We built a highly customized version of the Lionheart plan, with Jennifer tirelessly working with me to customize every inch. She never complained about the multi-hour marathon sessions where we ironed out minute details and explored different options. If I wanted something out of the ordinary for our home, Jennifer would work with her boss, Robb Smith, to find cost-effective solutions and options.Jennifer was also laser focused on keeping us within budget—more so than I was. She never pushed needless upgrades—often talking me out of upgrades I thought I needed.Jennifer’s sage advice and industry experience allowed us to go into the build process with a financial cushion for unexpected changes and upgrades. While our home was not cheap, we received a fair price for the quality of the home we built. Frankly, finding a better price per square foot for the level of customization and high end finishes our home has would be difficult. For example, it would have easily cost us $15 to $20K in design and architectural services if we had used another builder. But because Jennifer’s services are part of Southland’s build package, I was able to put those savings into our home.But the best part is Jennifer’s openness and warmth. The rumors are true: building a custom home is super stressful. It is the biggest investment of most people’s lives. And imperfect people must work closely together to put foundations (literal and figurative) under a family's dream. But the initial relationship I built with Jennifer saved my sanity (and likely everyone else’s) during this build. It made it easier to transfer my hopes and dreams to her teammates when the design process ended--including our building superintendent, Tim Nichols, Robb and Wendy at corporate, as well as the host of subcontracting teams I spent over a year of my life working with.Bottom line: Southland Custom Homes is filled with good people trying to do the right thing by their customers while making an honest living. Highly recommend the entire company—but start with Jennifer first!
