I highly recommend MO TransitCare. I was referred to their services when my mother was discharged from an Oakland-area skilled nursing care facility, and I needed to find a non-emergency transportation service to safely carry my wheelchair-bound mother from skilled nursing to her new senior residence.The drivers are CPR-certified by the American Heart Association, HIPAA-compliant, background-checked, drug-tested, and trained in mobility and special needs transport. They will also provide their own wheelchair as needed. This safety information was very comforting to me.I spoke to managing director Mukhtar Hirsi on the phone so that I could confirm the details and rates. Mukhtar was very responsive, a good communicator, kind and polite. He confirmed the rates and explained he was already familiar with the skilled nursing facility my mom was in as his company is an approved transportation vendor for them. He also told he would be the driver that day.On transportation day, Mukhtar showed up about 30 minutes early, as we discussed, in case he was needed to pick Mom up from her floor. He was courteous and very calm, which was exactly what I needed since there were several stressors on my side. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, a helper - who was going to assist with the packing and moving - arrived later than expected, forcing me to take on additional tasks that delayed Mom’s discharge time. Mukhtar was kind of enough to wait until me and Mom were ready to leave.After greeting Mom warmly, Mukhtar very meticulously prepared the back of his van before he carefully rolled Mom, in her wheelchair, up the ramp and inside the van and buckled her in. He was sweet to Mom, clearly very warm and respectful to elders. He showed a high level of care and emotional intelligence that was nice to see.Once we were at Mom’s new senior residence, Mukhtar carefully unloaded Mom from his van and made sure she was safely transported inside the new facility. He was always concerned about Mom’s safety and comfort. Mom and I were very happy with the transportation services.My family has since hired MO TransitCare on two other occasions. For example, we hired them for several hours so that we could take Mom to doctor appointments; the last time was so that we could take Mom to Oakland’s Lake Merritt for fresh air and beautiful scenery. In each case, we were lucky enough to get Mukhtar as our transportation driver. His customer service was the same: Punctual, very professional and very kind.As the website says, I can confirm MO TransitCare provides very patient-focused care. I would add the company also provides family-focused care as they give peace-of-mind to a senior’s loved ones as well. As such, MO TransitCare is the official transportation carrier for our family.

MO TransitCare is an amazing and affordable alternative to an ambulance ride or ride shares. It makes it hassle free not having to look for a ride through friends or family. Scheduling appointments with them is easy and the hospitality is so welcoming and comforting. They also have an option for an additional price to have access to their mobile chair that can also accommodate patients who can only lay down. Having reliable transportation is important, as well as feeling safe with your driver. MO TransitCare provides all of that!
