John helped me and my pup accomplish what we thought was impossible. My lil bestie Phinn is so great at home but was making walks and any public appearances intolerable. I called John and within 5 minutes of our session, somehow, we'd learned to get him to not only walk into the store and not react, but we learned what to do when the situation is too much for him. It was a phenomenal instructive training experience and John is a great teacher!We've applied his principles at a family visit the very next day, and where as the day BEFORE John he melted down and was reactive, the day AFTER John he was so calm and peaceful my dad claimed I gave the dog a sedative. 😂😂😂I am eternally grateful to John. Going into training, my dog knew the basics but I wanted to take his training further with learning how to achieve off-leash freedom, how to handle being around other dogs, and most importantly, I wanted to play an active role in the training. Not only was John able to customize the program to the pace that my dog and I needed, we were able to achieve all our goals in about 8 weeks. At each step, he took the time to explain how to do what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, where it leads, and what the dog is thinking. He has so much experience and expertise that he is able to catch every movement and provide immediate feedback. John is very professional, punctual, and passionate in what he does. We have had the best experience with Through the Leash. When we adopted two puppies from the same litter i immediately panicked and knew we needed to get some professional training.. When Matt came to us for our first session we knew we were in good hands. He has such a calm demeanor and level of patience with both humans and dogs. We had an incredible experience with Sam as our trainer. Our dog Dale was having a lot of behavior issues that we couldn’t understand on our own, and with the correct guidance and education we got from Sam he’s like a whole new dog. She didn’t just “fix him”, she took the time to learn about us & Dale, and made a plan for us to have a better relationship with our dog. We did the behavior intervention track, and a 3 week board & train with Sam and I cannot recommend Through the Leash (especially Sam) enough. She genuinely taught us how to communicate with Dale.Communication with Through the Leash was really easy and flexible as well, always a pleasant experience.After a previous horrendous experience with another trainer, I never would have thought this was possible. I can’t wait to get started on another round of training just to see what else we can get to know about Dale!!

I hired Through The Leash after I rescued my dog 4 months ago. We had a lot of issues to work through! My trainer Brandy was great. We accomplished a lot with the exception of my dog constantly going after other dogs. Our next to last session actually ended with my dog darting off after another dog. However, I was given a certificate of completion because my trainer was leaving the company. I was told if I needed additional help to reach out to Through The Leash and they would definitely help. So here I am 6 weeks later reaching out and I was told "since she gave you the graduation certificate July 21st that indicates all goals were met." I paid over $3000 and was told the training was for the "life of your dog." They should have said "for the life of your dog or until we decide to hand you a certificate."They did offer to have me meet with another trainer, but of course I would be charged per visit.

Brandy was an amazing trainer! Laverne is a 5yr old rescue with some dog reactivity and mistrust of men. She is now much better at understanding she doesn’t have to be overly protective and in hunt mode all the time. Brandy taught me how to read Laverne’s behavior to set her up for success. I couldn’t have asked for more. I highly recommend Brandy - she is extremely personable and knowledgeable - and gets results! 🤓🐶
