A slowly building infection from a previous root canal had been causing me increasing pain for weeks during our move to Roy from Logan. It finally woke me up at 2 am this morning, and there was no safe amount of Tylenol that would abate the pain. Took my phone in the bathroom to not wake hubby while looking for a same day emergency appointment with a dentist that accepts Medicaid. Left a message at Lifetime Family Dental, and they called me back by 10 am and got me in at 11 am the same day. Paid $50 for nitrous oxide, but no other fees with my insurance, which was a blessing. Tooth was impossible to save, so it was extracted efficiently and with compassion by the dentist. Hopefully I'll sleep better tonight! The facility is small, but they're building a big new one just down the street. So glad to have found this place!UPDATE: one root canal, one crown, and one filling later, I decided to bring in our teen daughter for her regular 6 month checkup and cleaning. She also has Medicaid. The hygienist was very thorough. She not only took xrays, but also digital photos of all my daughter's teeth, which were displayed on a large screen in color. It helps to see what the dentist actually sees when he looks in her mouth. Both Dr. Godfrey and the hygienist were patient with our questions and took the time to explain what they were looking at. My daughter and I both felt very comfortable with the care she received.SECOND UPDATE : July 2026, My daughter had her wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Godfrey this past March. All went well, recovery took 2 weeks as expected. Just had her regular 6 month cleaning today. In April the practice moved to a very bougie new office just up the street from the original location in Kaysville. An elevator in the entry deposited us right in the 2nd floor waiting room. Chairs are plentiful and comfortable, and my daughter enjoyed using a very large digital coloring tabletop screen while she waited just a couple of minutes for her exam. My husband had a previously scheduled appointment for a routine exam, and I was able to get our daughter in together with him on just 24 hours' notice, which was extremely helpful. Six months and one day after my own cleaning next week, we are all scheduled for our next exams on the same day within an hour of each other, saving us time and gas. Exam rooms are spacious enough for a parent to sit in on a child's exam without getting in the way of the dentist or hygienist. They have the same visual technology that allows parents and patients to view the dental xrays and color photos on good sized monitors along with Dr. Godfrey and his staff. It's super easy to be on the same page this way. They even lowered the automatic shade on the window to cut the glare, and it moved silently while still allowing some of the view outside to remain. There are sinks at both standard height and accessible height for patients who need to brush teeth before an exam if they have braces. It seems they've thought of everything at this new location! Highly recommend.
