It looks like I may be the outlier here, and I hope others had a better experience than I did. While Derenson himself was pleasant, the overall experience left me feeling misled.The issue appeared to be relatively simple, connected fire alarms that were malfunctioning and randomly sounding. Before coming out, there was no mention that it would cost $400 just to diagnose the issue.Once on site, he confirmed the problem was simply faulty fire alarms. I said I’d be happy to purchase replacement alarms myself and install them, but was then told I would still owe the $400 fee regardless, leaving us essentially forced to have him supply and install them instead.The total cost ended up being being $900 for what turned out to be a straightforward fix. Since then, I’ve worked with several other contractors, all of whom were transparent about pricing upfront, often before I even asked. DS Electrician's pricing structure for simply diagnosing the issue was unclear and far more expensive than expected.Based on this experience, I’ve advised friends and family in Worcester and the Central Massachusetts area to avoid using DS Electrician at all costs.

A wonderful job was done.It was a cold day and unfortunately our heat broke down and I was in a hurry to get fixed as I have my elderly Dad at home.Derewindson came over that same afternoon and replaced my baseboards and did some necessary rewiring.I was so grateful for that.He did such great work,I also had him replace our old fusebox to all breakers instead of the outdated fuses.Everything was perfect and up to code as it should be.The inspector even mentioned everything was meticulously done.I also had got new appliances and he replaced some old outlets and electrical boxes.I will definitely call him back when I need any form of electrical work done and I highly recommend his services to anyone who wants work done right at a very fair price!Thanks again I appreciate it!👍
