Being frustrated with the bait and switch tactics of a nearby Dodge dealer, Dempsey CDJR had a new 2026 Durango on-line that had more options than we needed, but that was lower priced. . . so I was expecting more bait and switch. Not so at all.Jess, the online specialist, was professional and transparent in directly answering all my questions and debunking conditions I heard from my nearby dealer by actually delivering the on-line price we discussed by phone when we met with the sales team the next day. Jess and I communicated 5 times between 6 and 8PM, and I kept trying to punch holes in what she was saying, but I couldn't. She was just patient and great with me the whole time. Still, I really expected that when we met to see the car the next morning the secret conditions would come up. They put the Durango on sales hold for us to meet the next day, Jess wrote that morning that they cleaned it up and put it in their indoor showroom to see when got there, we took it for a drive, came back and discussed terms, and there were no surprises. NONE.At Dempsey you actually meet with the Salesman and Sales Manager together, not some unknown sales manager in some office that the salesman keeps checking with to tell you "no". We got a great price for the new Durango, a great trade-in for our 2014 Durango, and an extended warranty that was cheaper and longer and more coverage than quoted from other nearby Dodge, Honda, and Toyota dealers. Steve and Dwayne answered every question my wife and I had; they found a way to satisfy every one of our worries and needs. Mr. Dempsey bought pizza and we had a great chat about his 30-plus years family business; he's such a nice, warm guy. I've never said that about a car dealer!London searched for the best financing and beat my other lender options hands-down. Steve called me the next day to see if we had any worries or problems. And, importantly, I really want to emphasize that these folks actually know the vehicles they sell.I've bought a lot of cars in my life and I've never had a better experience buying a vehicle, and never felt better about it afterwards. Honest, respectful, patient, caring, professional, no puff, no spin, no bait and switch people. Plano is just a short drive away; they will actually come and get your car for service and repairs and give you a loaner. I honestly cannot speak more highly of all the Dempsey dealership team! We just purchased a used 2024 Doge Durango and overall our experience was good. The sale however did start out a little rocky at best. We found the Durango online and started the purchase via the internet due to living 2 hours away. We filed out all the aids on the website including the pre approval however received no confirmation. Using the online chat with Reps we were told someone would contact us ASAP however after waiting several hours we heard nothing from any Rep. Upon making a telephone call the Rep that answered wasn’t the most helpful and caused us to continue looking elsewhere as it seemed our business wasn’t welcomed. After hanging up on the Rep. frustrated wondering why we needed to beg to be Dempsey customer’s, Sales Manager Josh came through for us! He answered all our question in a very timely manner and was very apologetic to our initial experience. Josh continued to stay in contact throughout the purchase and set us up with Steve upon our arrival to the Dealership as it was Josh’s day off. Steve was more than professional and went the extra step to make sure the few minor flaws the Durango had were corrected. While waiting a short time for the paperwork to be complete by yet another very professional and very knowledgeable Rep, London, Mr Dempsey himself took a few minutes to speak with us. I explained our overall initial experience to him and he too was apologetic. He didn’t make excuses and owned up to sometimes they fall short and was glad that we understood and continued to give them a chance. Overall we are very pleased with Dempsey however if you are serious about one of their vehicles, we would suggest going old school and just dial their number ask for Josh, Steve, or London and they’ll take great care of ya!!
