Portland Closet Company was recommended by our architect, and we had a great experience. They were easy to work with from the first contact - responsive, generated great design ideas, and also suggestions to simplify the project when it came in a little over our expected budget. They also have very transparent (and competitive) pricing compared to their competitors.The communication regarding scheduling for installation was very smooth, even when we had to change the date to accommodate our remodel that was running behind schedule. The installers were prompt, courteous and left the job site impeccably clean.Highly recommend!

Had several closet companies out to give a quote on a few rooms but I knew right away when we met that Rose at PCC was the designer I wanted to work with. If you are looking for designs that actually fit your space instead of being cookie cutter, and you want to work with a designer who is interested in designing WITH you, look no further. No hard pressure gimmicky sales tactics either. The installers were great too, super fast and efficient. And the closets are beautiful! Exactly what I was looking for. Will be calling on Portland Closet Company again when it's time to do the next set of rooms!

I recently had a great experience with Portland Closet Company, start to finish. I had a very small under-the-stairs closet I wanted converted to a small pantry. They were able to use my rough scribbled diagram/measurements and inspiration photo to come up with a proposal within a day or so, and within my budget. The installation happened about two weeks after I signed the contract, and it was exactly what I wanted. Afterwards I decided I wanted an additional shelf, which they ordered and brought to me quickly. Great experience, great product. I highly recommend Portland Closet Company!

After comparing three different designs and bids, we chose Portland Closet Company and we were so glad we did.What set them apart from the start was Lucas. As both a designer and a carpenter, his depth of knowledge came through immediately in our very first conversation. Our ceiling had a soffit that made the design tricky, but Lucas handled it effortlessly, turning a potential obstacle into a seamless part of the final plan. His attention to detail in the planning phase gave us enormous confidence. Yes, the pricing was on the higher end — but for such an expense, we needed it to be exceptional, and the thoroughness of Lucas's designs made the investment feel completely justified. He even helped us with the library ladder installation at a very reasonable rate. We are so glad we had him on our side.On the installation side, Ian was an absolute standout. He stepped up, took ownership, and saw the project through with patience, dedication, and true professionalism. His work ethic is truly exceptional! Portland Closet is very lucky to have him.The owner also jumped in to help resolve a lighting situation, which was a great reminder that this is a team that genuinely cares about getting things right. We had an amazing experience working with Portland Closet Company on several custom projects throughout our home, including a custom mudroom entryway, a large built-in home office, and a multifunctional Murphy bed room for guests and kids.The mudroom area turned out beautiful and completely transformed our entry hallway. They designed a custom built-in bench with drawers, hooks, and storage that finally gave us a functional drop zone for coats, backpacks, shoes, and everyday items. It looks clean, timeless, and fits the style of our home perfectly.The home office was the biggest project and honestly exceeded every expectation we had. They created a full wall-to-wall office system with custom cabinetry, upper and lower cabinets, integrated lighting, a large desk workspace, and traditional crown molding details that make it look like true custom millwork. The office feels high-end, organized, and incredibly functional while still being warm and inviting.In another room, we added a queen Murphy bed with side shelving and toy storage, plus a TV mounted directly to the front of the wall bed using our own television. It was such a smart design and allowed us to create a flexible guest room/playroom combination without wasting space.Before choosing Portland Closet Company, we received bids from several competitors, including California Closets. After going through the design process, it became very clear that Portland Closet Company offered the best value, better customization, and a much more personalized experience. For nearly the same price another company quoted us for a single wall, Portland Closet Company designed and built an entire additional wall of cabinetry. What also stood out was the flexibility in design. Unlike some of the larger national brands that felt very cookie-cutter and limited in what they were willing to customize, Portland Closet Company was open to making changes, adjusting details, and truly designing around how we wanted to use the space. They were willing to think outside the box instead of forcing us into a standard template.The quality of materials was also comparable to the larger luxury closet companies — dovetail drawers, premium finishes, quality hardware, and beautiful craftsmanship — but with the added benefit of local manufacturing. While Portland Closet Company offered many of the same finishes because they use the same vendors as some of the larger brands, they also had significantly more finish options available and several that felt even higher quality and more custom. Knowing they build locally gave us much more confidence because if adjustments or additions were needed, we knew we wouldn't be waiting months for parts or replacements to ship from out of state.Overall, the entire experience was fantastic from design through installation. If you are considering custom built-ins, mudrooms, home office cabinetry, Murphy beds, wall beds, or custom storage solutions in the greater Portland-vancouver metro areaas, I highly recommend Portland Closet Company.

We recently worked with Portland Closet Company on two different projects in our home — a large wall-to-wall built-in media center and a separate custom Murphy bed — and both turned out absolutely incredible.The custom entertainment center completely transformed our living space. We wanted a full built-in media wall with custom cabinetry, shelving, storage, and a clean luxury look, and the final result exceeded expectations. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are amazing, and the entire wall unit looks like it was always part of the home. It created the perfect entertainment space while also adding a ton of functional storage - so much so that we haven't even filled the cabinets yet.Portland Closet Co. worked with us on options to fit within our budget so we could get what works for us. They have TONS of options for different finishes, colors, hardware, lighting, &c. so we were able to get something that looks and feels wonderful but fit within our budget.One feature that I, as the one responsible for setting up all things audio/video, particularly love are the pull-out shelves for the media PC and stereo. I can easily get to the back side for connecting everything without sticking my head all the way in there, holding a flashlight between my teeth trying to figure out which port some tiny connector goes into. Ask for this if you're getting a media cabinet!Just a note - we chose to add lighting ourselves and the exposed wiring at the end of the shelving is NOT how it was installed, so judge not! That's my own project that I have yet to complete. They do offer some really amazing integrated lighting options, and that wiring IS completely hidden and tucked away nicely, but that was out of our price range which is why we're doing our own thing.Details on the Murphy Bed are in a separate review I wrote, as well as photos. In short we are super happy with that project and we love that we have a comfortable queen size guest bed without sacrificing space. The bed is both attractive and functional and I still have plenty of space to have friends over to play music in the guest room.From design through the entire process, the team was professional, responsive, and incredibly helpful. If you are looking for custom built-ins, a media center, entertainment wall, wall-to-wall cabinetry, or a custom Murphy bed in the Portland area, I highly recommend Portland Closet Company. The quality and overall experience were outstanding.
