We had a tree fall on our house and it did some damage to one side of the house, we contacted our insurance company and then contacted First Coast Contracting. Jason came out and accessed the damage to the wall and the window and began getting everything needed for the repair, in no time the window was replaced and the wall was repaired and it looks like nothing ever happened to our house. I have had a miserable experience dealing with First Coast contracting. One of the owners came out for the quote. Apparently the person there for the quote is not the person who writes the quote. Due to this major part of the project was left off like painting after they hung the new drywall or fixing the crooked ceiling or replacing the electrical outlets. When we brought any concerns up they would just talk in circles instead of owning up to there mistakes and fixing the issues. I personally will never hire them again because they cause more headaches than they do fixing things. It is very unclear who is in charge. I had about 4 different people tell me they are an owner of this company. Very poor structure resulting in even worse service. Please see pictures of how electric electrical outlets were left after they said they would replace them. Ceiling left crook. Vents not replaced and lots of caulk to fill in gaps instead of the seamless look they promised. Not what I would personally classify as exceptional work. The manager or owner Jason is also very rude and let himself into my house through the back door without knocking like he owned the place they did not respect my home. Less

My home flooded three times due to recent rain, and rather than offering any support or understanding, they tried to charge an outrageous amount just to move a few remaining items in my 500 sq. ft. space—after I had already removed the larger pieces. Most contractors I’ve worked with have no issue moving small items, especially in routine jobs, let alone in an unexpected and stressful situation like this. I originally hired them to remove water from my home, but instead, they caused two additional flooding incidents. On one occasion, they failed to shut off the valve inside the house, leading to toilet water spraying everywhere, damaging my vanity and wall right in front of me. Another time, they neglected to close the sink valve, and when the crew working on the drainage outside turned on the hose, it resulted in more flooding. Instead of taking responsibility, they tried to blame the outside workers, even though shutting off the valve is standard practice. Their excuse was that the valve was only two years old, which is absurd. What’s worse is their complete lack of accountability. They downplayed the situation because none of their belongings were damaged, but my items—only two years old—suffered because of their carelessness. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. Less

We worked with First Coast Contracting for our two bathroom remodels. We had mold remediation done two years ago by another company and they left us with a half-done job. First Coast definitely stepped up to the plate to help us get the bathrooms exactly how we wanted them. Their prices were reasonable and their team was great to work with. Very detail-oriented, knowledgeable, and dedicated to making sure we felt heard and that things were done right. A summer storm caused a significant amount of damage to the roof, eves and front of our house. Lightning hit a tree causing the damage. It was a mess and frankly, we weren’t entirely prepared to deal with the clean up and repairs. The first call was to our insurance company who sent an agency to mitigate the damage. But we were left to try to figure out the rest of it. Another frustrated call to the insurance company provided a contact to a contractor which proved to be a blessing. First Coast Contractors arrived; then reviewed and supplied scope of work to do the restoration. I had heard stories about contractors before, so I admit to being skeptical. However, the professionalism, knowledge and demeanor Ray Nagy and his team demonstrated set my concerns aside. After signing a contract, they were on the project of restoring our house. Any question I had was promptly answered. When they set a date to be here to work, they were here to work. As a woman, I truly appreciated that. I NEVER felt that I was getting lip service. As with any construction job, with lots of moving parts, issues arise. And there were with this project. However, they were quickly addressed, resolved and the project advanced. When they were examining the hole in our bedroom ceiling, they were frank in telling me that they might not be able to match the existing plaster job which is old school 1970’s high profile. Also, the original plan was to remove the wall paper and paint the wall due to the proximity of the hole to the front window. I like the wall paper and it would be impossible to match. Their guys did an outstanding job. You can’t even tell there was ever a hole there. And the wallpaper was unscathed. The job site was always orderly and crews were respectful. I fully recommend First Coast Contractors. They did a great job. Our home looks great, you’d never be able to tell there was so much damage. Less
