First thing you need to know about me is that I don’t like to exercise and never have.The second thing you need to know?I love, love, LOVE Actualize Sports and Fitness! Around 2, 2 1/2 years ago, I started my journey to drop weight. I did, and on my own, but achieved this through diet choices alone. However, just losing the weight wasn’t solving neither my increasing peri-menopausal issues (poor sleep, anxiety/stress from outta nowhere, low energy, etc.) nor my weak muscles from my sedentary lifestyle. I knew I needed to do something, and it wasn’t until a coworker told me about this place did I even consider strength training.I met with Mika at the end of this January and had my free class shortly afterwards. I was immediately hooked.Actualize has been the PERFECT fit for me. They have classes that start at 4:30 am and go all day, so you can find a class that fits your schedule. Second, it’s friendly, warm, NEVER intimidating or condescending, so you’re always comfortable. There’s definitely a sense of community and you make gym buddies quickly! There’s an accountability piece and relationship you have with your coaches that I really needed to not slip back into any old habits. They are so knowledgeable, PATIENT, and I think they have just as good of a time as we do during class!Most importantly, you have fun and see results! After a week or two, shoulder pain that I thought I just was stuck with the rest of my life started to disappear. A month in, I was buying a few of those cute cropped tops that are in style now, I’m lifting & moving at a level I never thought possible, my body feels ten times better and my energy levels are as if I were 20 years younger.I can’t thank this place and their phenomenal team enough. They have helped give me part of myself back. :)
