The French onion soup is probably the best onion soup I have ever tasted . The fish special that evening was triple tail and it literally melted in my mouth. To top everything off, I ordered the profiteroles which were out of this world. This is a neighborhood gem and our new favorite date night restaurant. We came here because of its reputation; whether in France or around the world, we always look forward to encountering great French cuisine…Arrived happy, left disappointed. The food didn't arrive until over an hour later, and I had to ask for a napkin several times before they finally brought one.To be frank, for the same price, you could go to a more upscale restaurant that combines tradition with innovation and has a more distinctive style.

Glowing Review of Figaro BistroMy wife and I, along with friends, recently had the pleasure of attending a 5-course French Wine Dinner event at Figaro Bistro and it was nothing short of extraordinary. Nestled in the charming Hillview area of Sarasota, Florida, this quaint bistro is a culinary gem that truly deserves praise.The start of our culinary journey began with a robust Charcuterie presentation, a delightful assortment of cured meats, cheeses, and flavorful accompaniments. This was perfectly paired with a refreshing Rosé that complemented the richness of the charcuterie. I didn’t know it yet, but it set the tone for what was to become an exquisite evening.Next, we enjoyed the Salad au Blue et Noix, which featured delectable blue cheese and candied walnuts. Each bite was beautifully balanced, and the dish was perfectly paired with a lovely Côte de Rhône that elevated the flavors even further.The main courses were astounding and truly the stars of the evening. Having sampled French Cuisine around the globe, I can say the Sea Bass with Parmesan Risotto was nothing short of a revelation. Without hesitation or reservation, it truly was one of the top three entrees I have ever experienced in my life. Everyone at our table wholeheartedly agreed. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the risotto was creamy with a delightful Parmesan kick. It was paired with a magnificent White Bordeaux that enhanced the entire dish. Equally impressive was the Boeuf Bourguignon, which melted in the mouth and was accompanied by a similarly excellent Burgundy Bordeaux. Without a doubt, these dishes showcased the chef's incredible talent and passion for French cuisine.To conclude our meal, (as if we could possibly eat any more) we indulged in a superb Poire Belle - Hélène, a classic dessert that was elegantly paired with Champagne. This delightful finale encapsulated the entire dining experience—rich, balanced, and utterly satisfying.Cozy Atmosphere and Heartfelt HospitalityThe atmosphere at Figaro Bistro was cozy and inviting, perfect for an intimate dinner or a special celebration. Chef Ronny, even took the time to come out and engage with us, sharing insights into the various dishes we were served. The new owner Sue and her daughter Erika were genuinely warm, caring, and down-to-earth, adding a personal touch to the evening that made us feel truly valued as guests.Having sampled some of the finest cuisines from around the world, I can confidently say that Figaro Bistro stands out among them. This small, quaint establishment in Sarasota has cultivated a dining experience that's exceptional and memorable. I left feeling enriched, and I can’t wait to return to explore more of their exquisite offerings.

This is a hidden gem in Sarasota. The food and the hospitality are amazing. Erika and Jerome are top notch and pay attention to every detail. Everything on the menu is phenomenal and the desserts are the icing on the cake. Treat yourself today!!

We sat at the bar and met Erica the owner and Jerome the bartender and server. They were so friendly and engaging. I had my favorite, Dover sole, and my partner had the French onion soup and filet which were all fantastic. We finished with the profiteroles which were amazing. I highly recommend this intimate, neighborhood restaurant.

Outstanding as always. So many neighbors were concerned it would change with new ownership but we can tell you it’s BETTER! Delicious! We had escargot, the French onion soup, Dover Sole, French fries and profiteroles! It’s back into our regular rotation. We had a beautiful evening!

Everything about this place is incredible. From the fine wine, to the melt in your mouth meals to the intimate atmosphere; you will fall in love. The service is amazing and the owners make you feel like family. This restaurant is unparalleled to anywhere else in Sarasota, you won’t regret visiting. I wish I had photos to post because presentation was beautiful, but with how good it smelled we couldn’t wait to eat! Perfect spot for a date night, a celebration or no reason at all. 100/10 recommend.

WONDERFUL MEAL! So very pleased the new owner has not just continued fine French gastronomy at this charming restaurant — but improved on the offerings. Osso Buco was possibly the best I have ever had. Carolyn’s Branzino was outstanding. Preceded by a simple but deliciously crisp and tasty salad. Followed by scrumptious Profiteroles. Congratulations to Erika! Can’t wait to return!

Figaro Bistro is truly excellent. Comfortable facility, diverse, interesting menu, beautifully presented platters, and excellent service. Figaro Bistro should absolutely be on your "regular" dining list. It has never disappointed.

We had a wonderful dinner at Figaro Bistro! We didn't want to cook the night before Thanksgiving and opted for a dinner out - Figaro was great! We started with the delicious foie gras with fig preserve and a bowl of terrific asparagus soup. That was followed by a very generous portion of mussels and fries - really excellent!! Our mains were the seafood with pasta, the duck and the filet. All were cooked well and served warm! We were too full to even think of desert - next time. We look forward to our next visit - nice to find such a gem here in Sarasota!

This place is a keeper. My wife and I have eaten here a number of times -- food, service, ambiance is fabulous. To add to a great evening, Erica overhead us talking about celebrating our wedding anniversary. With our bill she included an envelope of all the things that happened on that date over the years - very nice!

GREAT atmosphere, service impeccable, food authentic. You get what you pay for and it's obviously premium quality. LOVE the wine list and specials. Mixing it up... love it.
