Colby and his crew were phenomenal. They build a long retaining wall along our driveway. They were able to work us into their schedule quickly, they were efficient and quality of work was great. I had no problem with communication and he adapted to changes on the spot. Highly recommend. We are very happy with his work!

Colby Heckman has done the landscaping for Somerset Meadows for the past year and we have renewed his contract for the next two. He does quality work at a competitive price. But with his trained eye, he also brings issues to us for attention and is very responsive in attending to that as well.

Colby and his team worked hard to get our house looking good for listing photos! Truly went above and beyond making our shrubs/trees look great! They mulched for us too! I don’t have a negative thing to say about working with Heckman Landworks!

I saw Heckman doing leaf removal at a neighbor’s house, so I called and had them come do mine. I thought the cost was extremely worthwhile. Not only that, but they did such a thorough job - I was thrilled! I’ll definitely use them again and recommend to anyone interested in quality leaf removal

We had significant overgrowth, dead trees, and dozens of live trees that needed to come down. The project was impossible for me to consider. Enter Colby Heckman. If you are not sure what forestry mulching is, Google or Youtube it. It is an amazing way to clear land and make it usable, but you need the proper equipment and skill to tackle the job. Colby has a fantastic equipment setup, and he is a very skilled equipment operator. Colby spent five days working our land, and the results are spectacular. We are so pleased and grateful for the work Colby completed, and we cannot recommend Heckman Landworks enough!

Heckman Landworks did a great job clearing our residential driveway after an ice storm. They actually scraped the ice instead of just plowing, which made it much safer and allowed us to get our car out of the driveway without spending hours shoveling. Very professional, friendly, and neighborly.

I cannot tell you how pleased I am with our backyard pool removal project. We had an in-ground pool that we wanted filled due to damage, a back fence line to be re-graded, and the yard to remove its extremely sharp slope. Spencer came out and took care of us! He had a great attitude the entire time and made sure our requests were met. He went above and beyond in his efforts and I highly recommend this company to anyone interested in fair and excellent service! Before and after photos included!

Colby and crew are professional and courteous people. He has trained them well in order to maintain this level of competence. We already knew the caliber of young men he hires, because they have been taking care of our yard for a few years now. So we hired them to do some landscaping to fix some water run off and to design a firepit area in our backyard. If there were changes, as often there are, we were notified, and our wishes were always fulfilled (just yesterday he agreed to move some plants to another location and it was done within the hour). Our vision of a backyard firepit area and the overall look came together just as we had envisioned it due to listening to each other's ideas and cooperation. Thanks to all for a job well done!

5 Stars – Outstanding Work from a Family Team! Colby and his brother are top notch! We recently worked with Heckman Landworks on a full outdoor upgrade, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. They installed a beautiful new patio, regraded our entire side yard, laid fresh grass, and even cleared out trees and brush along the woods to open everything up — their forestry mulching made a huge difference in the overall look and feel of our property. The patio design is clean, well-built, and fits our home perfectly. The grading and lawn work were done with real care, and we were impressed by how quickly everything came together without sacrificing quality. What stood out most was the team itself — this is a family business, and they bring that level of care and pride to every detail. Honest, hardworking, and easy to work with from start to finish. We’re already planning to use them for our next phase of landscaping. If you’re in the Lynchburg or Rustburg area and want top-tier landscaping with personal service, you won’t go wrong with Heckman Landworks.— Patrick BergstromRustburg, VA

Excellent job; I highly recommend them and the job they do. They exceeded expectations, were tidy and attentive to the surroundings, confirmed my complete satisfaction, and extended me the favor of facilitating additional landscaping work. Still, the final cost was lower than their already favorable estimate. The outcome proved to be a wholly and exceptionally positive experience. It reclaimed my backyard, enhanced curb appeal, avoided my having to purchase mulch and weed killer, and improved the overall health of my yard. My kids are excited and my home seems invigorated. Truly the best home improvement project imaginable.
