I'm a long-time Toyota owner and don't typically need repairs, especially for my 2014 Tacoma with less that 45K miles on it, so I was surprised when I started hearing a crunching sound in the front end. I took it to a shop in Lakeside. At first they couldn't hear the sound. When I drove them around so they could hear it, they told me it was a loose part in my brakes and not a big deal. I knew they wrong.A few months later, I dropped off my truck at Auto Tech in El Cajon on my way out of town. John called me nearly every day to keep me posted on the progress, working around a 3 hour time difference. He was honest about the diagnostic processes and that it was likely one of two things. He gave me honest insight into which repair made the most sense to try first. Luckily, for me, I had John's guidance and my truck was fixed with the first try. It was my struts. He also gave me a clear understanding of how my struts could need repair with so few miles on the truck- something that hadn't made sense previously. Michael, who actually did the repair, did a fantastic job.The price was competitive, and they even cleaned up a mess that I had made on my floor mat! What a relief to finally find a mechanic in whom I have complete trust. You just can't put a price on that. I won't be going anywhere else.

Highly recommend these guys! I got a full inspection done on my Toyota Prius, and they replaced my brakes and rotors. Everything was clear and professional, and they didn’t try to up-charge me with random fixes like some places do. This will be my new go-to place!

Talk about a shop with ethics and honesty. I brought my Volvo in to John and Antonio for the first time ever to get an oil change done. Since I already had the car there I told them it was making a noise which I feared could be the turbo. After a keeping the car and few hours of diagnostic all signs pointed to an expensive turbo replacement. Antonio put his expertise to work and after even more diagnostics he determined it was actually just a gasket on my turbo and not the entire part! They called me up with the great news and worked hard at making things normal again. These are the situations that set shops apart and when you earn a customer for life. Not because it was a cheaper repair than what they originally quoted me for, but because they were honest about it and only sold me what I truly needed. My Volvo is back on the road and running incredibly well. Thanks to the auto tech team for their hard work! I’ll be back.

I just purchased a 2008 XC70, which had worn pressure tips for the windshield washer nozzles. Stopped by Auto Tech to see if they could help, and I was out 20 min later, good as new. Jaime and John were very friendly and helpful; I will absolutely return for future needs.
