The "Moo Ping" Smoked Pork Ribs, which came highly recommended on their website, did not disappoint. The ribs were not only delicious but also fall-off-the-bone tender, making every bite a delight. We also enjoyed the Grilled Prawn Pomelo Salad, which was appetising. The prawns were huge and juicy, complementing the fresh pomelo. Additionally, the Burnt Butter Cabbage had just the right amount of char, paired beautifully with the rich aroma of the butter. Not pictured, but worth mentioning, is the Ginger Lemongrass Tea I tried. I'm usually not a big fan of lemongrass, but this drink captured the perfect balance of flavours, making it refreshing without being overpowering. The curry was spicy enough to be enjoyed, yet it didn't mask the other ingredients in the curry, which makes it a well balanced green curry. The duck was also not dry. The pork ribs were really tender and delicious. The sauce goes really well with the pork ribs. Also, there was crispy rice served along with it which I liked. The chicken in the French Poulet was tender and flavourful too, but I think I preferred the pork ribs more. I strongly recommend trying the Charred Corn Som Tom and the Moo Ping Smoked Pork Ribs. The Thai Iced Milk Tea was sweet and milky enough, although I think the tea taste was a bit weaker than the milk taste. The Sabai tasted fruity and was delicious, which I enjoyed. I particularly enjoyed the buttery taste of the cabbage as well, and my friend loved the green curry. Amazing dinner i had at Fi Woodfire Thai Robertson! It had a very nice and cosy ambience suitable for a date night! I ordered the mooping pork ribs, green curry roast duck, morning glory and prawn omelete:) The mooping is not your typical sweet pork on a stick, but rather a pork rib well marinated with a good balance of fatty and lean meat. Out of everything that stood out to me first, surprisingly, was the music played. I rarely ever notice things like this but I was telling boyfriend how much I enjoyed the super vibey thai playlist they played! Listen out for it if y’all ever done here! It’s a simple cozy restaurant. We got a corner table (tho it was a little squeezy in the corner that my bf’s seat kept getting bumped into, think even the staff had to always watch out so as to not trip serving food). Friendly manager/supervisor which ensured us diners that all was okay over dinner. Must order: the moo ping smoked pork ribs (I don’t really fancy moo ping in general) but this one was so so tender. The smoky taste and fragrant was prominent. It was a total of 500g for the pork ribs. So succulent. Another which I truly enjoyed was the crispy chicken ribs we ordered (with a chilli dip). Again, I don’t really fancy chicken wing style fried things. But this was again so tender and I just kept going at it 🥲 What was really interesting was the pad Thai. It’s different from how it’s normally served. It came with sunny side up (runny yoke) which we mixed into the noodles, lots of coriander - perfect, and cherry tomatoes that were nicely sautéed - wasn’t cold or raw. Definitely a different taste from your regular pad Thai but it’s worth a try. Portion was bigger than we’d expected. The soups looked yummy but sadly we didn’t have anymore space for more. Do make your reservations early because the space isn’t very big and we were told by the staff that every other table were already booked (cos we wanted to shift to another table). We were a table of two and we ordered 3-4 items in total and that was more than enough to fully fill both our tummies. Loved the concept of a wood fire oven. We went for the big dishes- smoked pork ribs, iberico pork abinico and the crispy chicken ribs, paid with Pad Thai to complete the set. The iberico pork was a tad gamey but the ribs were succulent and flavourfully good, chicken ribs innovative and mouth watering! Pad Thai was a notch above the average as well. Fi Woodfire Thai at Robertson Quay offers modern Thai cuisine intensified by woodfire, making it a standout spot! We tried the Moo Ping Pork Ribs, which were deliciously crispy on the outside and tender inside. The Charred Corn Som Tum was a delightful surprise with its sweet and sour dressing and crunchy grilled corn. The French Poulet was another specialty, marinated and wood-fired to perfection.
