This is a family owned and operated business and it shows. I use Clever Canine for Day Academy as well as boarding. I really love the fact that my dog works with a trainer while there. When I drop him off in the morning, he doesn't even look back at me. He's so eager to get inside and get on with his day of fun ( and lessons). John and Lizzie are always accommodating, respectful, and just are nice people.

Our experience with Clever Canine Dog Training and specifically the owner Mandy has been EXCEPTIONAL!! We rescued our dog that came in as a stray to a shelter in Detroit. The one year old pup had never been socialized and was reactive to strangers and had other minor behavioral issues. We attempted to do some private at home training with a couple of well-known training companies - but they all ended badly and I and my family getting really stressed out. That's when we approached Mandy. We cannot say enough good things about how AMAZING Mandy has been. She has a very keen understanding of dogs as well as people's psychology. She very expertly guided us and our pup through 8 weeks of training and several offline discussions on the phone and email. Today, our pup is EXTREMELY well behaved. Mandy and her team have a lot of compassion for dogs. She always advocates for the dog and taught us how to understand our pup's mindset and provide the best care for the dog. By the end of the training, we were much more closer to our pup, and he was much more integrated with our family. We went from being stressed out every day to being a joyful household within two months - it has been miraculous to say the least!! Their day training service (day care + training) is a very good supplement to the Great in Eight program and our pup LOVED going there! I would whole heartedly recommend anyone with any kind of dog behavioral issues (or who just need obedience training) to take their dog to Clever Canine Dog training - and experience the same amazing results that we have.

This review is a little late, but March 2019 Clever Canine was awesome in helping us arrange a birthday party for our dog in the form of a group agility lesson. They extremely nice and accommodating!

I have mixed feelings! I take my 6 month old dog to the training classes here and have loved the people! I decided to try out boarding as I was going out of state for 5 days. This is the first time I have boarded/left my dog with strangers so I was having anxiety like most owners do. I dropped off my dog Tuesday at noon and was told I would receive nightly updates except for the holiday which seemed understandable. Out of the 5 days he was there, I recieved no updates. Turns out the office staff was closing down for the holiday for 4 days which I was not aware of. Being across the country not knowing if my dog was okay was extremely hard and was not relaxing. I’m in a sticky situation cause I like this place and upon pickup on Saturday night the guys helping me said my dog did great and will be missed. No doubt in my mind that my dog was in danger but it would have been nice to get an update to ease my mind throughout the 5 days he was there. Maybe moving forward the staff should put a plan in place to give Owners updates when the office staff is not able to?

I love every single person that works here! I put my puppy through the AKC Star Puppy class and the Stay and Play daycare program. All of the trainers love dogs and really care about the wellbeing of them. Whenever I have a training question or general question about my dog, I'm always given great advice to help my situation. My puppy looks forward to coming to this place to see the trainers and all the other puppies, when originally she was a pretty fearful and timid dog. I really would trust my puppy In the hands of anyone who works here.
