Rapid Dry Restoration

We own a 1986 manufactured home in Palm Desert. One day I received a phone call from a neighbor telling me water is flooding his driveway from our home... We had a broken pipe that filled our crawl space! Our laminate floor inside was floating and the subfloor acted like a sponge. We are 1800 miles away looking for help. I called the only name I was familiar with, ServePro and made arrangements to fly down and meet. After the initial meet ServePro said they could drain the water and remove the wet surfaces, but they did not do any of the repair work or remove the mess! Oh, oh, not for me. I wanted a company that could take on the entire project, hire the trades, show me progress via photos and get it done. I interviewed restoration companies over the phone and met with Rapid Dry. I was very comfortable using a family-run company (not a corporate name) where their reputation equals whether or not they get a paycheck each week. They came loaded with 25 drying machines to stop any mold from forming. Measurements were taken of the amount of water lurking beneath the floors and they knew the scope far better than we did of the damage that was to be uncovered. From the first meeting to the final day of work every one of the workerswere truly accommodating, pleasant, respectful of our property and easy going. If I wanted to add additional work outside of our insurance claim, they did it. They interfaced with the insurance company and kept me up-to-date despite being located in another state. Cary, Rapid Dry's estimator did such a good job, that no extra expenses arose unless I upgraded for our liking. All our furniture was removed the first week and sent to storage so that the entire floor and subfloor could be removed and rebuilt. The movers did not lose, break or scratch anything after 8 months in storage. Yep, 8 months... insurance hold-ups were a reality! The workmanship was steller - our home was rebuilt so much better than the flippers did before we bought the house. I would hire them again if I had any job I needed done. From demo to carpentry, cabinety, plumbing, electrical, tile work, painting, flooring - all done beautifully. The two bathrooms were taken down to the studs and tiled and rebuilt also - it was a large job.All garbage removal was done timely and no eye-sores that were reported to us via the HOA. The only downside to this project was the long timeline -A woman in our HOA had a hot water heater leak that took one full year to rebuild her home from another contractor - so perhaps 8 months is good.
