If you're looking for the ideal spot for a group lunch or a lively hangout with friends in DC, El Sol completely nails it. We came in with a big group, and the entire experience was top-tier from start to finish.The menu is packed with authentic options, and everything is practically made for sharing. We ordered a spread across the table, and every single dish was high quality, deeply flavorful, and super satisfying when it came to portion sizes. I personally got to try the guacamole, the Tacos de Camarón, and the California Fish Tacos—the fish tacos with that crispy fried fish were absolutely wow!To top it off, their handcrafted cocktails are as genuine as they come. The prices are on the higher side, but given the fresh quality, great flavor, and big portions. Even with our large party, the staff was amazingly attentive and handled our table like absolute pros. Can't wait to go here again!

Place was crazy busy on Sunday afternoon. Everyone was scrambling. One busser, one bartender, and one server. All 3 were working very hard.Angela was amazing and took great care of us. Best meal and service of our eight day trip to Washington DC.Food was excellent.

This is the best Mexican food I've had since moving from the west coast. Going forward it will forever and always be my go to restaurant. The guacamole and quesois a must try when visiting. For dinner I had the Tacos Dorados, the chicken was moist and delicious. 10 out of 10I have a gluten-intolerance and the wait-staff was very cautious about cross contamination and let me know what was safe to eat and what I should avoid. I appreciate their knowledge and willingness to help me select food that was safe for me.
