My husband and I are both retired ex-military from the United States and having been stationed in Europe years ago, we decided to come back and make Portugal home. It is a daunting task to relocate especially when you’re in your 60’s and 70’s. Not knowing anyone, we did some research online and visited some social media chat rooms about Portugal and real estate.I noticed Aurelian trying to help answer questions and he had such an honest face, lol. I looked at what some were saying in their replies to him and it seemed like he earnestly wanted to help others in this process. I reached out to him and we scheduled a video call which is quite something with the time change. But there he was, on time and eager to help us. We took up too much of his time yet he was gracious and very respectful of our situation.Aurelian kept in touch with us, emailing pictures, information, prices and more information on the process when we would arrive. It was wonderful to meet him on our research trip to find a place as it’s required for our D7 visa. He showed us places that weren’t even on Idealista and were all very possible solutions. But it came down to the weekend when we had to return back to America and just a few days we found our flat, they were still renovating but Aurelian convinced them to show the place to us while they were working on it.It was perfect, just what we were looking for and right at the low of what we were budgeting for. We signed the lease, made our deposit, and headed back to America in preparation for returning to our new home, Setúbal Portugal. And of course we happily paid Aurelian for exceeding our expectations and becoming our first friend in Portugal. I found Fox Real Estate while looking for apartments, on-line, in Setubal; so I connected with Filipa and Aurelien. They set up a spreadsheet showing available apartments with my criteria, I was able to click on link that took me right to the listing; I was also able to enter info on apts I foundOn idealista and get Aurlien’s feedback. Well, then I mentioned that the bank I was trying to open an account with just stopped communicating with me and Filipa said,Oh we can help with you with that! And so, they did: I soon had an account with Millennium bank. And through the whole process Filipa was on top of it. Aurelien, meanwhile, organized several zoom calls of apts I was interested in till finally t found the right one! Aurelien worked with me and the owner to get the lease done, deposits made; he and Filipa did the paperwork for the utilities and internet/TV.
