Arana Painting

Arana Painting is truly extraordinary on so many dimensions - it's hard to figure out where to start. We used them on two houses - one in Hillsborough and one in Burlingame. There are eight reasons why they are so good:1) Technical Precision - these guys are masters with the paint brush and sprayer - whether wood, drywall, metal, stucco, you name the surface, they can paint it; intricate details of different color around wood, multiple colors on adjacent walls, care around expensive stone and wood inlay - they know how to do it. They preparation is second to none.2) Speed and Hard Working - we needed a 6,000 sqft house completely painted inside and out, with repair work, putting lighter paint on darker paint, highly detailed around moldings - all done in 3-4 weeks. They committed to the schedule and they beat the schedule - when they ran into trouble they had more craftsman painters to add to the job and at times were willing to work past midnight. Whatever it took to get the job done on time in a high quality way.3) Color Advice - we worked with a designer and and architect but we involved Emmanuel in the decision making given his deep expertise - he had great insight, a great eye, kept us out of trouble but was not afraid to give us bold suggestions.4) Problem solving/fixing prior painter errors. See pictures - our Hillsborough house had redwood siding - the previous painter decided to fix gaps with plastic epoxy which left a shiny sheen next to flat wood - looked hideous and nearly impossible to fix. Emmanuel's team figure out how to strip the wood back to its core, re-prime and repaint and it came out looking like new.5) Care - Emmanuel cares about his team and he cared about our houses - one point, a plumber accidentally hit a water pipe on our upper floor while Emmanuel and the team were finishing off the cabinets and walls in our remodeled kitchen. He saw the water coming through the ceiling, immediately got 10 guys moving to cover everything with plastic, led a "bucket brigade to get all the water out and minimized the damage to one area of floor and the drywall ceiling. Instead of a 6 months to deal with the water damage, because of his quick action, it took us a little over a week to fully recover and move forward.6) Nice People - Every experience we had with Emmanuel and his team was awesome - from quoting the job to consulting on repairs and color choices to the actual painting and finishing - even when other subs damaged newly painted walls - they just got back to work and made sure everything was like new. No complaints, just good spirits, hard word, good attitudes. And when we needed help moving things around, they were there to help us - had nothing to do with the painting - they just were willing to pitch in whoever we needed to get things done. Made such a difference on a stressful job.7) Cleanliness and Respect - they were immaculately clean in how they approached our job - they protected everything that wasn't painted, they never damaged anything in our garden cleaning their brushes, they made sure everything was back in place (we had 50 cabinets to paint in one house that they had to take apart including all the hardware; we had 75 windows that had to have it's hardware removed - everything was put back in place in perfect working order) - just rare to have that attention to detail on so many things.8) Value for Money - Arana was not cheap - at least on our jobs - these were big jobs with a lot of detailed work. But I would pay it again and again and again and again and again. It wasn't cheap because he brought in high quality people who knew how to paint a high end house in a high end way that will last. The right paint, the right technique, fixing errors - in the end, he left nothing to worry about and the looks was extraordinary. If you're looking for a high end painter who knows what he is doing - Emmanuel and the guys are your team - I've used a lot of painters in the day - but never again - he will always be my go-to painter.
