John is very very knowledgable. His experience and professionalism shows. As soon as he arrived to the property he went right to work diagnosing. He was respectful of the home by wearing booties and taking them off to go inside. He communicated what the issue was and very clearly. He was thorough and made sure i understood every part of his process. So happy we went with Leak Authority. Highly recommend to anyone who is need of help with a mystery leak!

We were dealing with unexplained moisture issues and honestly didn’t even know a company like this existed. The Leak Authority was extremely thorough, professional, and explained everything clearly without trying to upsell or scare us. The report alone was worth it.

After a water bill of $897 I called the leak detector. John Stephenson came, found it and fixed it! Leak Authority is wonderful!

Surprisingly, we hired The Leak Authority even though we didn’t have a leak — we needed expert help locating an active beehive hidden in our lath-and-plaster ceiling. John was able to pinpoint the hive quickly using his acoustic imaging equipment. What really stood out, though, was that he didn’t rush in and out; he took the time to explain what he was seeing and shared real, on-site insight into the world of diagnostic tools.John and The Leak Authority are genuinely good-hearted and clearly there to help, not just take your money and run — which is rare these days. I hope I never have a leak, but I’m really glad to know exactly who to call if I do.

I meant to write this review a while back, but things got busy—figured better late than never.I’m a contractor and was dealing with a very advanced RO system that had everyone scratching their heads. From the first phone call, The Leak Authority was incredibly helpful. They took the time to talk things through, ask the right questions, and didn’t treat it like a generic issue. What really stood out was that they were willing to travel outside of their typical service area for a reasonable cost, which made a huge difference for us. Once on site, they were able to properly diagnose the issue and give us clear direction on next steps. Thanks to them, we got our client back up and running without unnecessary guesswork or delays.Solid people, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Definitely a resource I’ll be keeping in my contacts.

I’ve known John for years, and he’s always been one of those guys who’s genuinely helpful and incredibly knowledgeable—especially when it comes to leaks and diagnostics. He’s the person I’ve called for advice more times than I can count. I’m honestly glad he finally started The Leak Authority because now there’s a dedicated place to go when I run into tricky situations in the field. It’s reassuring to know there’s a resource backed by real experience, not just theory. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend The Leak AuthorityWe were referred to The Leak Authority by the water department (East Bay Municipal Utility District / EBMUD), and honestly, I had no idea a company like this even existed. After doing a little research, it became very clear that these guys are the real deal. This isn’t your typical plumbing company — they’re true specialists. The level of knowledge, technology, and professionalism they brought to the job was next level. They took the time to explain what they were doing, why it mattered, and what the findings actually meant, which gave us a lot of confidence in the results. If you’re dealing with a suspected leak, unexplained water usage, or need expert diagnostics, this is the company to call. You can tell immediately that this is what they do day in and day out. Extremely impressed.
