I cant say enough good things about Brinton. They not only turned the car around in half the time anticipated they did a spectacular job and made everything spectacularly easy. They even fixed a few extra dents, scratches and scrapes at no charge. I hope I don't have to use them again but if the circumstances arise, I will go directly to Brinton. I have been bringing my cars to Brinton for the almost 20 years I’ve been working in the Union County area. The owner, John Brinton has been nothing but professional, friendly, helpful and thorough in the handling of estimates, post-accident body work, side view mirrors being torn off by hit-and-run drivers, glove compartments being stuck in the closed position, hood hold-up bars being rusted in place, tune-ups, tire changes and routine oil changes. Brinton himself has also driven me to work (as well as Kevin) after dropping off my car when I couldn’t get a ride in a pinch. For the majority of this time, I have been a single female and never once believed either John or Kevin has taking “advantage” of me because of my status or gender (Unlike another presumptuous and quite revengeful prior reviewer. Look at the other reviews. Enough said.). I also know others whom are nothing but satisfied by all of the work Brinton has performed for them over the many years I have worked in this area. In fact, I chose to try out Brinton from word of mouth recommendations. I have often chosen Brinton over the respective dealers where I bought my cars and I will continue to do so as long as I work in this area! Less

Brinton did some bodywork on a vehicle after my significant other purchased a car and didn't notice a dent in a very bad spot on the back. He had taken it to SO many different places who ALL said that the dent was going to be impossible to remove and would require replacing the ENTIRE back quarter panel to fix. Brinton fixed that dent in NO time! Why the other places couldn't do it is beyond me, but he fixed it and it looked like it had NEVER been dented! It looked EXACTLY like the other side of the back of the vehicle! I couldn't even tell where the dent had been! That was how good the job was. This place is ABSOLUTELY incredible and they are ALL so nice! I mainly dealt with Kevin and John. They are great people and I will use them over and over again. I began going to Brinton Auto Body several years ago when I lived in Edgewater. Their level of professionalism, genuine love for what they do, and honesty are all reasons why I love these guys. I currently live in Virginia, but I still continue to use them for both of my vehicles. I would rather make the 3 hour drive to Brinton's because it means my own piece of mind with trusted people. Recently my 2004 Yukon with 255k miles on it, overheated and died about 30 miles south of Washington DC while I was returning from a business trip. I had to have my SUV towed to a nearby service station in Fredericksburg, VA. They informed me the next day that my clutch fan needed to be replaced. They then called me back and said that after replacing the clutch fan, they tested and found that I had a blown head gasket which meant that the engine had to be replaced. The car they said, will not run anymore in its current condition. They then quoted me over $5000 for a new engine. After I declined, the mechanic offered me $500 for the truck. I declined the offer and askedhim to give me a week or so to determine what I was going to do. I ended up buying a new car that weekend. I then called my longtime go-to John Brinton of Brinton Auto Body. I explained what had happened to him, and he quickly found me an engine for $1500. So I arranged to get the car delivered via auto transport truck for $500, from Fredericksburg, VA up to Brinton's in Westfield, NJ. My plan was to replace the engine, then sell it for maybe $7k. After they took delivery, Kevin from Brinton's called me back to inform me that the clutch fan that the other place charged me for and changed, was in fact never changed. The original factory clutch fan was still in there & in need of replacement. They even gave it to me when I picked it up so that I could see it. After they changed the clutch fan, and flushed some fluids, Kevin called me back to say that the truck was driving fine. I couldn't believe it! I told him to ask John Brinton to just use my truck all week as his own. He did! He drove it all over the place, constantly running the AC and pushing it as I requested. He did. No problems. Soooo...... $200 for a rental car when mine broke down. $26k for a new car. $500 for auto transport. $100 for a clutch fan which never was put in, and a few other charges. All in, I spent over $27k because of I went to another one of these repair shops that just wanted to take my money, and my truck! Now had I just took it to Brinton's to begin with, it would have cost me $100 and I would have been back on the road the same day. John and Kevin, as well as the rest of the team at Brinton Auto Body deserve the highest level of praise. I have had everything from speedometer replacement & paint jobs, to heavy body work and complex engine repairs done here over the last decade or so. You will be challenged to find a better and more trustworthy family of repair professionals anywhere from NYC to Virginia. Less

This place is second to none! I brought my car here to get a price on a transmission after I took it to another place that said I needed a transmission. The other place wanted to charge an arm and a leg for the work. I bought it to Brinton to have them look at it to get a second opinion. I got out of the vehicle and gave it to the guys to take in. John comes out and says "OK. You are all set!" I asked him what he meant. He told me that the other place didn't tighten the lug nuts on the car. That awful sound I was hearing was not from the transmission, as that other place had said. It was from the TIRES THAT WERE ABOUT TO FALL OFF!!!! The place didn't put the lug nuts on properly and I could have had a horrible accident because of that! I was LIVID and relieved all at the same time! John could have made something up and charged me, but he didn't! He was totally honest AND he didn't even charge me for tightening the lug nuts! They are great! Great service and great work! Less

I brought my Subaru in for bumper repair and paint, which took approx. 3 days. Insurance paid for a rental car. In picking the car up, the bumper looked a a lot brighter than normal, but the car was sitting in the sun, so I assumed that was the issue; but upon getting it home it was more than obvious that the paint color was totally wrong! Because it was EXTREMELY obvious that the paint did not match, I felt, as a single woman, that I was being taken advantage of. Did they think that I would just let it go? Not notice it or say anything? I brought my car to Brinton because I was told "they were the best". Really? I was so very disappointed and disgusted. I called Kevin, the gentlemen there who was handling this (and may i say that he was a total and sweet professional, unlike the owner, John) and after much-to-do with them needing to re-paint the car, they also needed to now accommodate me with a rental car to get to work. The owner finally agreed after another week of waiting for his answer. Back I went. Bumper was painted, and when i went in to pick up the car, the owner, John, was there. He took my rental car keys, gave me a receipt and said not. one. word. I walked out. Was I supposed to thank him for his screw up? I thought I was relatively pleasant thru the whole process. Not even an "happy we could work this out" from the owner...nothing. Fast forward another week or more, my car gets hit with a tree branch. I bring it to a reputable auto body dealer in Union today and laughed as I told him that I just got the car back from the bumper being painted by another dealer and guess what? He, a professional auto body dealer, points out that the bumper was only HALF painted! I guess I never looked closely enough, but now could clearly see that the job was half-*ssed. I have no intention of dealing with Brinton again and cannot afford to have it repainted now, so it will unfortunately stay as is. I just wanted to give Brinton Auto Body a Bronx cheer for taking advantage of a single woman; a senior citizen no less. Quite despicable of you . I am sure that you would not have attempted to pull that little stunt on a man. Less
