I would steer clear of this company. At the beginning of October 2024, after his construction manager had come to look at our projects, we had a call with Bill to get estimates. We wanted to get a new kitchen floor, a new kitchen sink/faucet, new counters, and have the kitchen painted. We specifically asked Bill to give us estimates *with labor* costs included. He estimated $2,220 for the floor; $3,000 for the sink/faucet; $3,000 for the counters; and $1,700 for the painting—for a total of $9,920. Seemed very reasonable.Based on his estimates, we agreed to pay his *non-refundable* $1,500 pre-construction contract deposit.Bill had us go to his vendors to choose our stuff: Collins & Sons for the floor, Belleville Supply for the sink/faucet; Lifestyle Kitchen & Baths for the counters; and Sherwin Williams for the paint.Once we chose our stuff, Bill came back with quotes that were *more than double* his estimates: $7,315 for sheet vinyl floor; $4,013 for a composite sink/faucet; $6,722 for laminate counters; and $3,675 for the painting—for a total of $21,725!!!When we confronted Bill about the difference, he first tried to say the increase was due to fluctuations in material costs. (See first photo.)He then followed up a few minutes later saying, in fact, the “previous number was incorrect.” (See second photo.)Already locked into the non-refundable contract, however, we decided to go forward with at least the sink/faucet and the painting, for which we ended paying a total of $7,699.When it came time to pay our final invoice, though, they tried to tack on another $2,000 because they hadn’t included our kitchen pantry in the original quote. This was another “error,” however, which they reduced to around $400 when confronted. (See third photo.)If the experience were stress-free, and the workmanship were quality, I probably wouldn’t be here complaining. We paid for two coats of paint in our kitchen, for example, and they painted only one coat—leaving streaks of the old paint color showing through.Worse—it took *five months* for them to complete the sink/faucet and painting. The reason for this is, because when they sent us to Belleville Supply to order our sink and faucet, we apparently didn’t understand the difference between a flange, a gasket, and a baffle, so we didn’t actually have the parts we needed for the plumber to properly install the sink until the end of February 2025.All in all, we'll never use this company again. The “incorrect” estimates felt like a bait-and-switch. We also learned never to pay a non-refundable “pre-construction contract” in order to get an actual quote with materials.
