Polished the metal buttons and handed me a hand written note with a new customer gift bag. You feel like you underpaid for a service in a day where value is everything. I needed to have buttons replaced on two pairs of jeans and one pair of casual capris (not expensive dress pants or anything), so I called to get a quote. I was told it depended on the button, but between $3 and $7 each. I brought them in and just had to give them my contact info; there was no price discussion, which was fair since I’m sure only the tailor would know how much it would cost.I came to pick them up and was told it was $68. I asked how much the button replacements cost and two were $7 and one was $3, so $17 total. I asked where the other $51 charge came in and was told each pair of pants was $17 to dry clean. I explained I didn’t request dry cleaning and was told it was the owners’ policy on any pants without new tags on them.At no point between getting a phone quote and doing the “paperwork” when I dropped them off was this mentioned. There was no listing on the website or sign in the store either. I didn’t really have a choice but to pay since the work was done, other than just sacrificing three pairs of pants.I didn’t argue my point with the employee because she has no control over pricing, the website, or signage – although I do think she had a responsibility to let me know when I dropped them off. This is wildly unethical and I am flabbergasted that a business would operate this way. If they want to charge to dry clean for a button replacement, that’s their right (also, $17 to dry-clean casual pants is its own red flag). But it’s my right as the customer to know that in advance and not be blindsided by what I expected to cost $21 max.I will absolutely never come back to this business and will warn anyone who asks for a recommendation against them. Even if the cost wasn’t outrageous, the lack of transparency is enough to keep me away.

I mistakenly wore my brand new expensive tennis shoes to the business I manage to survey flood damage and they were caked in mud and flood residue. I immediately took them to fashion cleaners and they came out better than they were before I ruined them. They looked brand new! I’ve had them clean other things in the past and they did a great job. Fashion Cleaners has great customer service. I used their 24/7 locker drop off location. At first, their website said my order did not have any progress for a couple days, so I reached out to them and they handled my order within the same day. I really appreciated their efficiency and communication. I would recommend!
