Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home was used for the services for my father. He had preplanned and prepaid. That was a blessing to us. We used their facilities for the visitation with family and friends and for the funeral on the following day.The staff was polite, professional and respectful. The facilities are nice, clean and up-to-date in decorations and design. Some areas which could have been better were:- During the visitation, more guidance would have made the flow of people traffic less awkward.- Better guidance was needed for the family as they entered the chapel for the funeral and again as they left.- The pall bearers were told to sit with their families and step out when the casket was leaving the chapel. That piece of the procession was not orderly at all. The funeral staff did not wait for the pall bearers so they just made their way the best they could.- Several family members noticed that the casket had not been sealed (a piece of cloth from the casket lining was showing between the lid and the casket). I told the one who was directing the funeral. He was very nice about it and tastefully took care of it by opening the casket and sealing it after the family had moved from the graveside.- The procession to the cemetery was smooth, but the arrival at the cemetery left the family and friends unsure of what to do. We did make the best of it and acted according to what we expected we should do.Overall, I would have no problem recommending Bass-Cauthen. The staff was always courteous. The problems I mentioned seemed to be from lack of experience. The staff was relatively young but very well intentioned. I see a lot of potential in them for becoming top notch professionals in this business and ministry. Less

The staff was/is extremely friendly and very caring and easy to work with. They genuinely care about the families they work with and will do all that they can do to make sure they honor your lost one in the exact way you and your family want it done.
