Hey guys, I am somewhat of a lurker here, as I don’t really post, but I wanted to give a review of my CPE RS build. I have owned this car for about a month now and wanted to review it so far. This is now my 4th car from the 987/997 generation and my 2nd swapped one, so I feel I have decent seat time and judgment to write this review. My first car was bone stock, my second was a fully built M97 from LN Engineering with a custom TPC Racing turbo kit pushing 550 whp, my 3rd car was a Renegade swapped Cayman S, and now my CPE RS build. Now, I call this a “CPE RS” build even though it may not technically count as one, given the fact that it was built after he purchased it from Tyler. Now onto the review.SWAP FEEL: The car feels OEM in every aspect imaginable, like it came this way from the factory. It’s professionally buttoned up, and you couldn’t even tell it was swapped. There is truly nothing about it that gives it that “swapped” feel, as if the engine was not supposed to be in this car. It has perfect street manners. It even has a Spec Clutch, and it feels surprisingly amazing given their reputation. All user functionality still exists. All dash buttons and gauges work as they normally would, and the rear decklid/hatch closes like it does from the factory. The A/C blows ice cold, and the heat is hot.I have a 997 C4, and AWD is retained! The CPE ECU integration into the Porsche CAN is seamless, and it shows. There were minimal chassis modifications needed to get the LS to fit, and now CPE offers a “cutless” solution, so there is no hacking or chopping of any kind. It is also fully reversible if you decide to go back to the stock engine (but who the hell would do that haha). The car starts up every time and does not leak a drop of coolant, oil, or fuel at all. It’s seriously well done and turnkey just get in and drive without worries.IATs are ambient, coolant temps are consistent at 180 degrees (I recommend the 160 tstat), and oil pressure is perfect. It has the standard CPE wet-sump oil pan.Tyler worked his ass off to ensure everything works as it should.POWER: Like many CPE swaps, this has the 495 GMPP crate motor. Even with AWD, it’s some serious power. My brother has a G80, and my best friend has an Audi R8, and I keep up with them. 500 hp is a lot for any street car, and this is no exception.GEARING: Now, this is a touchy subject for a lot of people but hear me out: it’s not THAT bad.I was one of those people who bashed these swaps because of the gearing, but after really putting it to the test, I realized it’s actually decent. I have 305/30/19s in the rear, and 6th gear can go from 2k rpm at 50 mph up to 2,900 rpm at 76 mph.OUTREACH / SUPPORT: Tyler and Nicholas have both been amazing.I call Tyler and text him frequently, and he responds immediately. Now, that might not be a good thing because he has a family and a life outside of this, but he cares so much about helping his customers and the community that it is probably a full-time job responding to everyone, but he still does it. A lot of shops don’t do that, and for him to still allow that openness this far into doing swaps is quite simply astounding. I couldn’t imagine doing 50 swaps, selling kits, and still responding to everyone. Best customer service I have encountered, and 2nd place isn’t even close.Overall, I am beyond impressed with the car. I can’t rave about it enough. If you want a truly perfect car, then don’t hesitate to go this route. Not many cars will give you the feeling this does. It breaks necks everywhere it goes and gets so much attention. Lambo owners ask me to park next to them at car meets, which is funny because I prefer to be with the other P cars. All in all, I am super happy and think Tyler calling these “conversions” is more fitting than calling them a “swap.”
