Where do we start? We have had dogs most of our lives. However, we are in our late sixties with an eight year, 20 lb dog and now, a seven month old Labrador Retriever cross who is a bundle of energy.We were doing our best to train him ourselves but with two dogs, we were finding it difficult. After multiple attempts, we found a trainer willing to meet with us.During that complimentary consultation, Heston Jones listened to our concerns and hopes, and developed a training plan to meet our needs. Personal in home training for five sessions, followed by six group sessions.We have just finished the first five sessions and one group class with phenomenal success.Each time we met, Heston listened and then showed/guided us through every step of the way. So much so that at our final personal session, there was only one major issue requiring his help...RECALL. And now, that is showing immense improvement. Can't wait for the next group class!We highly recommend Heston Jones in training anyone's dog. We still have a rambunctious puppy, at times, but he's listening and obeying so much more. We know we still have a ways to go but every day is getting better and better. Money well invested.

What can I say about these Heston and his team, we got our Gus in October of 2025. He was a rescue and so we had no idea what breeds he was or how big he would get. Fast forward 6 months and he’s pushing 80lbs and exhibiting an odd apprehension/timidness that we were fearful would become aggression. Couple that the typical mouthing and excitability that comes with a huge puppy, we were at our wits end as parents of 4 young boys.Enter Heston, and 2 months later Gus is doing incredible, with consistent practice and following Hestons very clear instruction he has become the dog our neighbours are envious of. lol.So if you’re where we were please reach out to Heston, it was the best investment we ever made. Our experience with Lifestyle Dog Training was overall very positive and enjoyable, and our pup loved going to class. We had great success in learning techniques to help guide and teach our fur baby, and had the opportunities to address specific concerns throughout classes. We learned how to better express our expectations for our dog in a way she understands, and the classes helped us practice exposure in a controlled environment. There has been a drastic difference in leash walking and response to commands.We would recommend these classes to others looking for a good individual and group sessions.

Working with Heston has truly changed our lives.We rescued Gordon from Labrador in April 2025. After giving him a few months to settle in, we started identifying the training issues we wanted to address. Most of them were fairly typical, but walking him was our biggest concern. Gordon never pulled on the leash—he did the exact opposite. Whenever we saw another dog or person, especially a child, he would sit down and refuse to move until he got the attention he wanted. It was cute at first, but quickly became frustrating.Heston was recommended by a friend, Leslie Redmond, who also had a fantastic experience training her pup, Ollie. We began with private sessions at home with Heston, which allowed us to address Gordon’s specific behaviours both inside and outside the house. Learning how to properly use the prong collar and how to loose-leash walk completely transformed our walks. Now walking Gordon is an enjoyable experience for both of us, and it has drastically reduced my stress when handling a larger dog.We also worked on behaviours inside the house, learning practical training tools that we rely on daily—especially when Gordon gets a little too wild or when we have visitors who are elderly, young, or more fragile.After our private sessions, we moved on to weekly group classes with Heston for eight weeks. These classes were an excellent opportunity to reinforce what we had learned and to develop new skills, particularly working with Gordon around other reactive dogs.Gordon is a big boy (90+ lbs), and thanks to Heston, I feel so much more confident as an owner. I don't stress about walks anymore! And we now have the tools to address any new issues that may come up as he continues to grow and test boundaries.Throughout the entire process, Heston was an excellent teacher—patient with both us and Gordon. He is incredibly knowledgeable and always had helpful tips and advice.I cannot say enough wonderful things about Heston and our training experience. We have three dogs 12, 4 and 1 1/2. Our newest addition was trying to become the boss in our household. We were actually questioning having him stay when I heard about Lifestyle. After 5 visits from Heston- the difference in all three dogs is amazing. We feel our house is ours and we are not afraid to have people over while also enjoying our dogs. This was my first experience with using a dog trainer. I spent a chunk of change on this yellow lab and wanted to be sure he was behaved.He was horrible walking and actually pulled constantly. He is a powerful boy and pull my mother down when she was walking him.Enter Heston and Lifestyle Dog Training. I kid you not……within 5 minutes on the first session Ryder was walking as he should, he was paying attention to me as he should and readily looking for directions.Every session was the same……literally 5 mins or so and Ryder was doing things as he should. Heston has had an incredible impact on our dog Lila - 2 year old Maltese! With his guidance through the private training program, Lila's reactive behaviour and separation anxiety has improved dramatically! I was googling dog trainers one day and read all about them and this one stood out to me the most.. so I requested they get in touch. When they did I met Heston for the first time with my little crazy , wild, leash pulling, excessive barker at everything poodle Lulu.. she’s 2 years old and never had actual training only what I did myself . I was at my whitts end with her reacting to every little thing outside I couldn’t walk her because she was tearing my arms of and choking herself.So our private lessons started and in 5 in home sessions all I can say is wow what a difference in her. Before Sammy And Myself Started Lessons With Lifestyle Dog Training Sammy Was Leash Reactive , Lunging At Other Dogs , Barking And Walks Were A Nightmare . He Was Constantly Pulling Not To Mention Jumping Up On Company At The House , We Were So Stressed . Since Heston Came Into Our Lives 5 Weeks Ago Sammy Has Learned To Walk Without Barking , No Pulling , No Lunging . We Now Have Quality Time On Our Walks I’m Not Stressed Or Tensed Anymore , I Am So Grateful That Heston Taught Me The Skills I Needed To Handle Sammy In Public , Heston Also Showed Me How To Get Sammy To Use His Bed When Company Comes Over , He Now Knows That This Is His Spot .
