Our Marcus is a Labrador Special (aka a husky mix) who we adopted into our family. He’s young (1.5 years), sweet, and happy, but he can be the biggest ball of pure energy whenever he got the least bit excited, which happened a lot. We desperately needed help as he just wouldn’t listen to us. Walking was almost unbearable (pulling constantly, not paying attention to directions, being highly reactive to other dogs), and his at home manners just weren’t there (jumping up on us, being overbearing to his husky sister).And then came along Lifestyle Dog Training and training with Heston. It was like a light switch being flicked…we were finally able to communicate with Marcus in a way where he listened! Marcus has come so far in such a short time (we’re about halfway through the training program). Walks are not only possible but pleasant. He pays attention, listens to us, and walks by our side without pulling. His at home manners have improved too.Heston listened to our concerns, and showed us how to address the problems we were encountering. My pup is very curious, and insists on making her presence known, and trying to meet every person and animal on our walks. Our experience with Heston was amazing. We have a 3 year old Australian Shepherd that did not understand how to settle (whining, barking, pacing etc every evening). After a couple sessions with Heston we saw a complete 180. Our dog would settle in the evening and was much more enjoyable to be around. We also got help with walking on leash, which has improved drastically. We are still working through some reactivity in the car and barking at the TV but he is doing much better and we now have techniques to work on this. Recall has improved as well! Lifestyle Dog Training was fantastic. Heston was awesome. We had an extremely difficult dog and he worked with him. Unfortunately we had to make the decision to put the dog down as he began to hunt me in the house. We transferred the remainder of the balance to our other reactive dog and we were over the moon on how well he did with her. She listens better, is better trained and loves Heston so much. We do too. He is truly a wonderful man and a wonderful dog trainer.

I adopted my boy, Duke 7 months ago. He wasn't an awful walker, but not a great one either and also has some reactivity toward other dogs. Where do we start? We have had dogs most of our lives. However, we are in our late sixties with an eight year, 20 lb dog and now, a seven month old Labrador Retriever cross who is a bundle of energy.We were doing our best to train him ourselves but with two dogs, we were finding it difficult. After multiple attempts, we found a trainer willing to meet with us.During that complimentary consultation, Heston Jones listened to our concerns and hopes, and developed a training plan to meet our needs. Personal in home training for five sessions, followed by six group sessions.We have just finished the first five sessions and one group class with phenomenal success.Each time we met, Heston listened and then showed/guided us through every step of the way. So much so that at our final personal session, there was only one major issue requiring his help...RECALL. And now, that is showing immense improvement. What can I say about these Heston and his team, we got our Gus in October of 2025. He was a rescue and so we had no idea what breeds he was or how big he would get. Fast forward 6 months and he’s pushing 80lbs and exhibiting an odd apprehension/timidness that we were fearful would become aggression.
