After my motorcycle accident I initially called one of those law firms that I saw on a billboard. I was in a unique position as I was a first-year surgical resident, attempting to continue working while healing; pulling 12-hour shifts, working, weekends, and night shifts. I did not have a regular schedule, and that led to difficulties communicating with my original legal team, leading the firm to drop my case while keeping a lien on any settlement.
